I read mostly het, but if slash is written well enough then I'd read it. I only write het, becuase it's what I know. I have no idea what goes on between two guys in the bedroom and I wouldn't want to pretend that I do.

I just think it's weird when girls (who aren't bi or lesbians) say that they HATE het. I just don't get that.

    I dislike het strongly.
Because most of it [that I've found] is badly written, I don't like OCs, and I prefer guy-on-guy sex.

MAybe some girls fid it much too easy to imagine themselves in the character's situation. Like I read an Armstrong fic, and everytime there was sex, I kept on seeing myself as Adie. Maybe it's just me, though..

I don't dislike het... but it's just so common i guess. I see straight couples making out and what not all over the place everyday, so coming online to read it gets slightly boring... that and when I read a het sex scene I tend to imagine myself for some reason and I get weirded out.

    it's just weird. :shifty

Slash also tends to be more interesting. At least to me.

I dislike the synonyms writers have to choose from for the word 'vagina' and I don't typically like to read fan fiction without sex so...

I mostly read Het but I also read slash.
It doesn't really matter as long as it's written properly with a great storyline. :cute:

I don't understand why people like slash. Maybe I've never read a good one, but any slash I've ever come across is just... awkward. I especially dislike slash fanfiction about people who aren't actually gay. Anytime I write fanfiction I try to keep the character in canon as much as possible, so turning straight men gay just isn't okay for me.

I prefer reading het, though, because I can imagine myself in the situation. I've seen a lot of people say they dislike het because it's awkward when they see themselves in the situation. That's the point of writing, though, isn't it? To pull your reader into your story?

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't want to be pulled into a sex scene involving two men. That makes me uncomfortable, whereas a man and a woman together makes me feel... safe. It's a familiar situation to me.

That's why I write about Fueled By Ramen characters.
    No turning required!

I like to write slash because vaginas scare me.

Het is "normal" for me because I'm heterosexual. I don't like reading slash because I don't get off on thinking about two men having sex, but het I can relate to.

    ^ I agree.

I write het because that's what I know, and it's what I feel more comfortable writing.

I read mostly het, but I'll read a slash or femmeslash if it's well-written or if the pairing interests me.

I'm definitely more of a het fan than slash/femmeslash. I don't have anything against slash, but het is just my preference.
