I'm about half way through this Helter Skelter book that a friend let me borrow ages ago. :tehe: There's about 20 or so pages of pictures from the case in the middle and it's so so so facinating :XD
I read that! It was really interesting.
I think there's a movie based on it.

Yeah, there's 2 movies. One was made in 1976 and the other was made in 2004.
I've seen the 2004 version; it was pretty good.

Nobody's really mentioned the Beatles obsession.
He had this huge thing for the White Album, and called his "impending apocolypse" Helter Skelter. In the homes of the murdered they also smeared "Pig," on the walls in blood, after the Beatles' song Piggies.
    Freaky, eh?

He let music influence his life in such an odd way.
But, some kids kill themselves, kill other people, or whatever, from music.

Apparently (according to my psych professor) 1% of the population are potential psychopaths, and 11% are potentially borderline. That's a lot of people, but only a few get the kind of treatment and exposure it takes to be a serial killer. I don't doubt that Manson was always inclined to be unempathetic, but when even your own mother rejects you, and you're brought up my a family of criminals, you're not off to a great start.
I think everyone has the potential to be as...well, absolutely insane as him.

I think you just have to push that person to their limits.

    ...yikes.

    I absolutely agree with you.
Most of the serial killers that I've read about were ill-treated as children, whether it's neglection or actual abuse, or something like that. I don't think I could list the solved case of serial killing that didn't involve an ill-treated child, off the top of my head, besides Elizabeth Bathory.

I suppose that hurt was their limits and they snapped. It makes me think, and agree with you, that a serial killer could be anyone.

I might have the purchase this book. :weird

I read the Wikipedia page on it a couple of weeks ago. Meh, I know Wiki isn't always the best source but it was still really interesting to read.
A lot of it occurred around the days of my birthday. Obviously many years earlier, but still. :tehe:

Ah, I'm not that far in the book, but I am loving it! I am currently trying to find the movie so I can watch it when I'm done with the book, but of coarse, I can't find it yet.

But like I said before, he is interesting for some reason. :weird

A lot of humans have facinations with serial killers, especially those such as Charlie.
I want to see the movie, I haven't yet. :XD

I have a thing for reading about killers...
    I find it intresting.

I had my "Manson-craze" a couple of years ago...
I read all I could find about him and the family and the murders...
I freaked out my historyteacher! xD

    And well..
Charles Manson is a sick man...
His family is a bunch of sick people...

But they're all very intresting! ^^

Well, by his upbringing it does make sense for him to be how he is, it's sad actually.
I think he was a very smart man, just in a more twisted sense, he planned it out, and he did it pretty fucking well, but then again, I could probably never do anything like that.
    I'm a softie. Not a maniac.
