I have a few cats outside that we named, but I don't consider them mine. I have a couple of cats.

Silver is my big baby and the size of a small dog, I swear. And PB is my sweetheart that lets me scratch his belly and makes me hold him like a baby and cuddle him. Gacha and Guen (pronounced Gwen) are my "motherly love" babies because when they were just wee things, we had to bottle feed them because their mother got sick. tehe

I have two cats currently. One we've had for about five or six years, and the other one we actually got about a month ago and he's still a cute kitten! The older one is named Calvin Jr. We had a previous cat named Calvin and this one had the same characteristics (and also my mom was missing our previous Calvin because he had passed away) so we named him that. However, he's also known as Fatty and Chubby because he's suuuuper fat! XD Well, he's also really fluffy too. The little one is named Milo! But we've also given him nicknames like GiGi (from Kiki's Delivery Service), Blackie, and I sometimes call him Merlot because Milo sounds like the wine to me. XD

I have three kittens named Oreo, Smokey and Garfield. We had a kitten that we called Poof because she was really, really fluffy but we had to give her away. She and Oreo did not get along. We think it's because they're both female.
I'm not with Brett anymore so out of the above three kittens I only have Freak (Oreo). Her name was changed to match her personality. Now that I'm back with my mother I have several more pets living in the house.

Zoe - Very small and I don't know what breed she is. I'm pretty sure she's a mix though.
    Abby - She's a golden retriever.
Boy Boy - Shetland Sheepdog according to Wikipedia. Sheltie is easier to say.
    Sara - Also a Shetland. :)
    Colby - He's a chihuahua.

I really want to get a pit bull. I brought it up to mom and she walked out the room laughing and telling me I was out of my mind. When I move out (hopefully next year) I'm going to see about getting one.
    Yo, I have another update.

Freak: Black and white monster cat. Whatever breeds she is they must be big.
Boots: Grey with white paws. She has built in kitty boots...
Piss Pot/Baby Kitty: Our kitten that we rescued that isn't a kitten anymore. The name depends on how mean she's acting.
Zoe: Figured out that she's a husky, chihuahua and cocker spaniel mix.
    Abby: Still a retriever.
Boy Boy: Still a sheltie and getting old.
Sara: Sheltie, she passed away earlier this year. :'(
Colby: Chiuahua mini, he moved away with his owner and no longer lives with us.

Posted at some point probably in this thread that I have a ragdoll cat named Lexi. Not really any special significance to that name. I just like it and it seems to fit her. I also have a shi tzu/yorkie dog named Hans. My brother named that dog and he's technically my mom's.

I recently got a non-standard munchkin kitten that I named Tyrion and he is named after the Game of Thrones Character.

I love talking about pet names and where the idea for them came from! I've owned five cats in my life; the first was Major Tom, after the song ("Ground control to Major Tom..."). I didn't name him since I wasn't born, I believe it was the friend my parents got him from that named him -- her cat had a litter and she nicknamed them all after songs she liked, and Tom's just stuck with him.

Then I was a kid we took in a stray and I named him Mog, after the book series by Judith Kerr, even though our Mog was a boy and looked nothing like the book character, hahaha.

Then when I was a teenager, I got my first kitten, and he was the biggest one in the litter. Since he loved food so much, I called him Joey, after the Friends character, and somehow this evolved into Tiger Joey as a full name.

A couple of years after that, we got another kitten from a friend whose cat had a litter. She was a black calico and very pretty. I named her after a leopard cub on the documentary series Big Cat Diary -- Safi. It means 'clean' in Swahili.

Then, another few years later, we adopted Brodie. He was an adult and already had his name when we got him, but we loved it and it suited him a lot so he stayed Brodie. Sometimes he gets called Broderick when he's in trouble lmao, and occasionally we call him Boris because a friend of mine thought that was what his name was for a while.

We've also had some fish pets, belonging to my brother. He got three of them for his third birthday and he named them Murdoch (after a Thomas The Tank Engine character), and Jelly and Jackson were the other two, named after some other Cbeebies puppet show characters. Sadly they were just babies and they all had fin rot and died quite quickly, so we got another three. This lot were named Spots (he has spots...), Caspar (she was white), and Davy Harvey (an inside joke from a family friend). The only one still living is Spots! We also two tiny algae-eating fish but I can't remember their names. I'm pretty sure my brother named one Murdoch the Second... one of them might have been called Shy Guy, like the things from the Mario Brothers world.

Ruby was named after a Kaiser Chiefs song of the same name that was popular around the time of her birth in 2006. If you sing that song, her ears perk up, it's adorable.

Mr Bo Jangles (Bo) was already named, and because this was his Kennel Club name, and a name he already responded to, we decided not to change it! He's a shy little character, but it suits him - he only gets the full version when he's in trouble.

Arrow (son of Ruby and Bo) was named Arrow because we thought, when we were walking them, that "Bo and Arrow" would sound really clever and unique - unfortunately, not many people got the joke, and it still goes over people's heads. Killjoys.

Spud (daughter of Ruby and Bo, deceased) was named because Ruby decided that nesting in a big, 15kg sack of potatoes was a good idea. Funnily enough, when she was a newborn, Spud looked like a potato - she had tiny ears, she was ginger/pale blonde and if her legs were tucked under her, it was pretty uncanny...

Barney had two other possible names, Finn and Shadow, but we decided on Barney when we were doing a family discussion. I casually brought up when I was little, I was addicted to Barney the Dinosaur, and my brother said that's what we should name the puppy!, so we did.

Fish and Chips are our loyal goldfish, named after British take out food. Original.

Fish: Elvis. (I used to have a fish named Yo Yo Ma.)
    Cat: Lola.
Rabbit: Kiwi. (I used to have a rabbit named Millie Monster.)

I also used to have a lot of hamsters. Their names: Lemon, Cookie, Marshmellow, Tucker, Cream Puff, Mango, Chip, and Squiggles.
It is SO WEIRD clicking on this thread and immediately seeing the post I made eight years ago. Elvis and Yo Yo Ma and Lola weren't even really my pets. They were my sister Amy's. Now my boyfriend and I--living together in our first apartment--have two black kittens named Nox and Saga.
