So, ever since I can remember, my older brothers have always gotten all the love. My dad would go out on trips with them, and was never around for me. He missed my fifth grade graduation for Augie. He's missed so many events I've done, he's always gone with the boys, he never spends time with me. Sounds selfish, but it hurts.

At night, he knocks on Todd's door and says goodnight to him and everything. He passes by my door without a word.

I can't really talk to him about it, because my dad's not the kind of person you can just talk to about stuff.

Can you change the title so it has correct spelling? Favoritism.

My parents try not to play favourites with anyone. But my brother always think they love me more, and at times I think they love my brother more.

I think that it may be because your father has a stronger bond with your brothers because they are all guys. You probably have a stronger bond with your mother? :cute:

My dad has always favoured my younger brothers. It's only cause they're all guys so I suppose they can all have something in common. Plus I've never really been interested in sports so I never really spend time with them.
I get on better with my mum though

We always joke about this. =]
I'm now my mum's favourite since my younger sister is hanging out on the street.
She always feels so bad for me that I'm always at home by myself, which means shopping trip for me =]

Most of the time i do joke about this.
But I think My brother and sister are my dad's favourites sometimes because they're more..technical, whilst I'm not. I prefer spending time with my animals, than building computers.

As with your problem, maybe it's because they're all guys. Maybe just hint to your dad that you're feeling left out. He might do something about it.

I haven't spoken to my dad for many a year, but he had a warped sense of justice. I got kicked out of home for only scoring second-best in the state with my university entrance score. I never did anything offensive- I was always fairly inconspicuous, just being quiet and studying. My younger sister, on the other hand, already has a criminal record for theft and drug dealing, and not only is she still allowed to live at home, but my dad is buying her a car (with the money my mum supposedly left for me).

Sometimes there is no reason. But then, I don't think the vast majority of parents ever intend to be favoritists, or see themselves as being so.

Even my friends have told me that my grandmother favorites me more than my sister. I don't know why, and sometimes I feel bad for it. I don't think it's fair.

I think my mother likes my older brother.

    I don't know. maybe I'm just selfish.
Sure, my mother loves me, she buys me a lot of material shit.
But she sings my brother lullabies before he sleeps, she bearly gets mad at him, and everything he wants, he gets.

    And he's 15 years old.

    I'm the middle child.
I have to compete with the "ickle baby" and the "big girl".
    It's really not nice.
They get lots of attention, presents etc
I'm not saying I don't, but they do get a hell of a lot more.

I don't have any siblings, so I can't really relate to this. But I do notice that my best friend has a younger brother, and a lot of times he gets away with everything. She can do one little thing, and she's grounded for two weeks.

But I think a lot of times fathers bond with their sons easier, while mothers bond with their daughters.

Everyone in my family adores my little brother.
    O_O

I think it's stopped bothering me since I'm not too fond of my relatives anyway. It's just annoying when mom buys him a present for every good grade he gets and I'm an almost straight A student and no-one bothers enough to shows up at my extra-curricular activities. But somehow they do notice when I take a bad mark. -shrug-
    I'm a mean horrible person.

My nan favours me more than any of my cousins.
She literally comes out and tells me. I'm like, 'whoa nan, remember the other kids XD'

I'm my dad's only child, and my mother's oldest.

With my dad, it's not really an issue, obviously, but with my mum, oh my god.
She'll take me and my two half-siblings out to the shops, and if they go, "Mum, can I have this?" and it's
over their spending limit, she'll be like, "No, we haven't got enough pennies", but I don't even have to
ask and she buys it. :tehe:
Maybe it's because I only see her at weekends, but still.
For my brother and sister's sake, I do hope she stops playing favourites when they're older and can
    understand.

To be completely honest because everybody can see it.

I am the favorite one for my parents.
I'm never get grounded or yelled at.
I always get what I want(big time spoiled)
They always tell me how they wish my brother and sister would grow up like me.

But I don't feel like that's a bad thing because I am the favorite one for a reason, I listen to them, I do what I'm told, I follow the rules, am I straight A student in honor classes, never have gotten in trouble in school, still keeping my faith in God. And that's the thing my other siblings have completely rebelled and I am the only one that still has respect for them.

I've always been the least favorite of my siblings. My parents don't think i know it but i did. to be honest i think its because I'm the only one that dares to be different. My parents don't like the fact i listen to all this rock. And the fact i have MCR, Paramore, Green day and Evanescence posters round my room ,the fact that i have CD's with the parental caution on the case, junk like that. All my other sisters listen to McFly and Rihanna, the 'acceptable' music. i mean MCR is more acceptable then a girl dancing around half naked, but you know.

My dad prefers me over my brother. My mum say's it's because I'm his 'little girl'
...I get away with so much that my brother can't. Someways it's good. But I usually end up feeling guilty.
