Ethnic Stereotypes

  • I'm Cornish. Therefore:

    - I talk like a pirate.
    - I live off pasties.
    - I say "meddy" and "dreckly" a lot.
    - I refer to everyone as "m'lover".
    - I am either a hippie, a surfer, a miner or "fisherfolk".
    - I am inbred.
    - I don't refer to Cornwall as "Kernow".
    - I live on a farm.

:file: Oh, the fun of being Cornish. :coffee:

  • I'm Canadian! So, according to most people...

    -I say "Eh" a lot.
    -I have a pet beaver.
    -I live in an igloo.
    -Hockey is my religion.
-I say "aboot, not about." Christ, I've always hated that one. :finger:
-We drink a lot of beer

God, there's so many, but I can't think of any more. :file:

    - polar bears walk on the street like dogs
    - I don't leave the house without a parka
    - I drink more Maple Syrup than water
    - I've never seen a summer here

Don't be ashamed, liking it and drinking it more than water are two different things.

Oh dear god no; I don't really like water, but I still drink it more than syrup! I only like real syrup though, not that stuff that they sell in stores... like Aunt Jemima's? Is that what it's called?

Nonetheless, we Canadians make damn good syrup! :lmfao

  • Oh dear, I found more Canadian sterotypes. As Canadians, we:

    1. We know what a toque is
    2. We use Canadian Tire money! :lmfao
    3. We know all the words to "If I Had a Million Dollars."
    4. We watch MuchMusic, not MTW. :XD
    5. A pike is a fish, not a part of a highway!
    6. We say Zed, not Zee.
    [That's a lie, I prounounce Z as Zee.]
    7. We can spell Saskatchawan

    Woow... I feel pathetic. :XD

  • Oh my, Canadian Tire money?
    I don't like this.

  • I'm getting a new pet koala tomorrow. Wow
Mine fell out of the tree because it was dead Sad

Because all Australians have pet koalas :shifty

  • Wish I had a pet koala :lmfao

Do you say "where you to?"
My friend lived down there for a while and her boyfriend's Cornish; she was in the supermarket the other day and found herself looking for a certain type of bread, asking "where it to?"

We raised Rheas too. Those things are sick nasty. I was really, really little when we had the farm though. All I remember is that they all got out of their pen one day and me and my mama had to sit outside all day long making sure they didn't get in the road. Disgust

I never got my PB&J. Cry

    Canada? Sweet!

Do you guys really have milk in bags? And... stuff?

Tim Horton's whoo! My daddy's been to Canada and he says that they're waaay better than McDonald's. :tehe:

    And....

You guys make really good Maple syrup candy. :shifty
