Mibba in Schools

East-Renfrewshire schools recently adopted the "WebSense" website filtering system. Mibba is a blocked site on this list because it falls into the following category, get this...
"Personals and Dating"
It is a story-writer's community. DA is blocked for the same reason.
Also, while on the topic of it. The filters went "tits-up" the other day and decided to block Google because some idiot ticked the "Block Search Engines and Portals" checkbox in the config panel.
Anyone else have Mibba either available or blocked in their educational establishments.

We have it blocked.
Come to think of it, we have everything blocked.
We have a black list, and a white list, and the black list people have tried to go on sites like myspace, etc, and they've been banned from even using google.
The white list people, well, they can use Google, but just not get into the pages that come up.
It sucks

I can't get to any of the links to Mibba that start www.mibba.com while at school. I can, however, get to the links like members.mibba.com and news.mibba.com so when I'm done all of my work in Computer Applications [which is like, an hour a day], I get on the news and articles and find some good reads. Unfortunately, I can't log in to comment the articles, though. And I can see profiles and stuff. Just not the stuff I want to be doing. Like...forums and talking to people.

Gaaaah, Mibba wasn't blocked at my school last year but it is now. I have basically nothing to do in my 7th hour class at the moment and its on a computer, but I still can't get on meebs.

At our school they really only block websites that a lot of people have been going on like myspace, youtube, some doll maker, etc.
I'm too scared to go on Mibba so it's not blocked, I check occasionally.

Mibba isn't blocked in our schoo because, well, they don't know this site exists. :tehe: They only blocked the popular sites such as friendster, multiply, etc.

Heaps of stuff is blocked at my school. The blocker thing they have is this program where it shows the teachers the top ten most visited sites and if anything like bebo, facebook or myspace get in the top ten they block it.

Luckily not many people in my school use Mibba so it's not blocked. :cute:

It's not blocked at my school. Or at least, it wasn't at the end of last year. Might be this year. But even then I was afraid to use it, because they have logs of history and commands and stuff so they would see that I tried to delete history. :shifty

Most sites are blocked on our school system, though.. Like the bbc website was blocked one day because a teacher found 'content not suitable for school children'...

When I was in public school, I got Mibba blocked from there by reading slash during IT class. :file:

Mibba isn't blocked in my school, but we never get time to use the computers for our own personal gain or fun anyway.
Like basically in computing the teacher's always looking at what you're doing, and in Admin it's worse. :(
We were allowed to slack off a lot more in like first and second year, but now it's fifth year, if we slack off we're basically gonna fail.
