I love curling my hair, and I prefer it to when my hair is straight, but it's a bitch to make stay. The hairspray I like to use is Aussie, but it doesn't seem to work too well. After maybe an hour it'll start to flatten.

What are good brands of hairspray that actually hold? And if there's something else that anyone else does when curling their hair, could you share some tips maybe? Thanks in advance. Cute
Bed Head and Redken both make the best hairsprays. I don't use hairspray, but when I do, I go with one of those brands.

Also, the proper way to curl hair is this:
    - Apply a heat protectant to your hair. ALWAYS do this before using heat on your hair. Always. I cannot stress this enough.
    - Grab the piece of hair you want to curl and run a comb through it to gain control
    - Spray it with a small amount of hairspray
    - Run your curling iron down it like a flatiron in order to warm the piece of hair up. This prepares it to be curled and will help the curl stay.
    - Curl as usual, and then mist it with hairspray.

And voila! That should help it stay a little longer. Also, using a texturizing spray prior to curling will help the curl stay and give a little bit of natural wave to your hair.

Also, for the record, hairspray is not bad for your hair. Any type of repeated stress, such as curling, isn't good for your hair, but as long as take good care of it (don't touch your hair, deep condition once a week, brush it properly, etc.), using heat or styling products will not damage your hair. The only thing hairspray does is dry out your hair, as does heat, so just make sure you are diligent about keeping your hair moisturized.

    I have naturally curly hair.

I have soooo much hair, it's... UGH.
So, when I put in mousse and all that, it dries up and gets like a afro. I can't use Anti-frizze serum or anything like that because it doesn't go down.
I love the wet look, so how can I do it?

Or, is there any gel that'll keep my hair down without damaging it?

Gel and other styling products do not damage any layer of the hair.

And I feel your pain. I have naturally extremely curly, extremely thick hair. Unfortunately, getting that wet scrunchy look minus the frizz is very difficult with thick, curly hair. Try looking for a thick cream gel or mousse rather than the normally goopy liquid-y kind, in addition to a smoothing/anti-frizz product. Also, using a curl-defining product would help a lot. To get rid of frizz, make sure you are using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, always apply a leave-in conditioner before styling, and do not dry your hair with a towel; instead, use an old cotton T-shirt. And lastly, do not comb or brush your hair, especially when it is wet. Use your fingers to style your hair.

Hope that helped even the littlest bit. :)

Hair dye from the box, it lasts however long the box says it lasts.
I'm not sure about the dye they use at a salon.

And it always helps to use a shampoo thats good for colored hair.

A vibrant red can last as little as a few days or as long as three months depending on how you take care of it. I would say, on average, it probably lasts a month.

When coloring your hair red, make you sure you shampoo as little as possible, and when you do shampoo, make sure you're using a shampoo for color-treated hair, which means it has no sulfates. Even better is a sulfate-free shampoo with melanin suited for your color in it. These shampoos lightly coat the cuticle layer with melanin, making it appear more vibrant and shiny. Use a leave-in conditioner to lock in color; this will also help protect it from the sun, which lightens hair.

Also, one good thing to do during the actual coloring process to make sure the product really penetrates in to the cortex, after you've applied all the dye, put on a plastic shower cap and blow dry for at least fifteen minutes, but preferably the entire time the dye is in your hair.

This is the best picture I could get of my natural hair. Taken just seconds ago.
I do have bangs that extend down to my top lip.
Any suggestions on what I could do with it?

Your hair is gorgeous. Cheese You should try a side part and possibly cut your bangs a bit shorter.

You can get pretty much any hairstyle to look good with glasses. But you should probably get bangs cut a little above or a little below the frames. And If you want a really short cut, make sure you get it a little shorter on the sides where the glasses are. Be sure to tell your hairdresser about your glasses, and they should be able to find a style that suits them.

So, I've got an important dance coming up and I have two questions.

    Clothing question:
I'll be wearing a dress with an extremely low back. I mean, really low. Hopefully either this dress or maybe even this dress.
I have rather large boobs that need support, so I cannot go bra-less in these. Anyone have any ideas to solve my problem here?

    Hair question:
My hair is pretty short; almost chin length (you can find pictures on my page). With dress like that, I'd much rather wear my extensions. The only problem is, to wear my extensions I have to either put a hat on, or a with a bandanna in. I don't want to wear either to a dance. Any ideas on how I could wear them to make it work?

I don't know about the clothing, but for the hair, turn your extensions in to clip-ins by buying weft clips, a needle, hair thread, and hair glue. If you don't want to do that, than I don't really know what else you can do, unless you want to just glue them in with hair glue, which is a pain and can be a tad messy, but works pretty well. I've just never heard of anyone attaching extensions with a bandanna/hat. Ha.

I have them as clip ins! But with my hair being so short, when I clip them in, the layers in my hair look ridiculous. Kind of like a mullet, I guess. So I wear a hat to hide that. Or I'll clip them all at the top of my head to cover my hair (versus under the top layer) but then I have to hide the clips under a bandanna.

Ohhhh, I see what you mean. That's exactly what I thought at first, but then I thought it was more likely you meant that you actually attached them with a hat. Lol my bad.

Maybe you could wear your hair up in some way so the layers don't look so out-of-place with long extensions? That's all I can think of because any type of hat or headpiece would look a little ridiculous with a dress like those you linked to.

Sorry I'm not much help. I tried. :(

Thy aren't exactly the best solution but they're the only one thats coming to mind but one of those invisible bras where the back is see through plastic is the only solution I can think of. My friend wore one to our prom back in high school because she had the same problem.

Clip them under the top couple layers and put in some backcombing? There's a girl at my school who has really short layers with long extensions and that's what she does and it looks pretty good.

First of all, I love those dresses. Secondly, if you go to department stores or lingerie shops, you can buy 'backless bras'.
They have 'self adhesive' bras on that website too, if you're a bit iffy and scared to wear something strapless/backless. I'm sure you can get them in other places. Cute

I want to dye my hair red, I'm just unsure if it'd look good on me. Here's a pic of me.

And what shade of red should I try? If I do end up dying it red lol.

My hair is naturally a similar colour, maybe slightly warmer - but only slightly. I dye my hair red with Live Colour XXL, which is supposed to be for extreme colour pigment, but because my hair is so dark, it just comes out quite nice and (almost) natural tehe
    Colour.
How it comes out on me.
    And again tehe

    Hope that helps!
