• You can listen to whatever you want. I would like to request you tell me of these band/solo artist obsessions, though, so I can surprise you with awesome band merch.
• You can talk to me about anything. I know it may seem like I would get mad if it's something important to you and you don't want to get turned down, but please. Ask. That's all you have to do.
• After a few (let's say around five to ten) times of hanging out with your friends, if your father or I haven't met them yet, please casually bring 'em in to just wave hello so we can at least know what their faces look like. No formal introduction needed. You can explain who was who later.

Dear Leum or Laura, you are my gift. I am blessed to have you. I am honored to say I am your mother. You are loved more than words could ever say. Never ever forget that. i love you no matter what, regardless of how strict i may be, and that is something you should always know and remember above everything else.

don't automatically trust anyone for any reason, and always use your head over your heart in situations where you know you could get hurt.

put yourself before everyone else, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, do what makes you happy.

someday you'll be faced with a predicament where you will love someone but they're not right for you. leave before you get hurt, i know it may sting at first, but it's better in the long run.

pursue the career that makes you the happiest. don't listen to anyone who says that what you want to do isn't good. it doesn't matter, as long as you're more than content with your life.

being smart and bettering yourself intellectually isn't a bad thing and shouldn't be frowned upon. don't ever feel bad for being smart and knowing more than other people.

being weird is okay.

you'll hear a lot of music throughout your entire life, and i want you to be able to appreciate and distinguish good music from some of the... not-so-good music. however, i don't want you to let my favorite bands and likes and dislikes be the basis for your decisions. you're entitled to your own opinion.

don't ever feel ashamed about anything, i'm here to talk to no matter what.

your grandma is the smartest, nicest, most wonderful person you will ever meet.
