    What are 'prompt tables'?
This is a link to my LJ entry featuring my prompt table.

Essentially, a prompt is one to three words that are supposed to make you think and formulate a story. Like, if the prompt is soft you think on it and then you write what the word 'soft' inspired you to write.

    A table is many prompts.

I tend to draw inspiration from the things that more or less enrage me, and I tend to center characters and conflict around that sort of thing.
It can be a good stress-reliever, and even if it turns out to be complete tripe, you can sometimes reuse the characters for different pieces, and just sort of go from there.
Right now, my most recent vendetta is against "The Catcher and the Rye", so I'm hoping to be able to channel this new-found hatred into something good and useful.

I just think about what I want to write and then write it. Generally if I don't have a pen and paper on hand and I get inspired my head feels like it will implode.

I hate it when that happens! I just make my boyfriend fetch for me if I'm at his house. :)

Stories are getting harder and harder for me to write, because they all end up the same. Yet, my poetry just gets easier and better. I've started writing in free-verse. What upsets me is when people read your material, and yet doesn't compliment or criticise you on it, 'cause it's too much effort to leave someone a comment.

Shockingly I get all my ideas to write from my dreams
Even if I don't have the courage to post my stories online it's always fun for me to twist my dreams around a little to fit my story and tada! i got a chapter!

My writing can come from many things, but I think the majority of what I write is from either my hopes and dreams or from the fantasy worlds that I just make up.

    Like, I live in my own made up realities and just write about that because those are so much better to be in than my own at the moment. ^^;;

I tend to be more creative when I become really stressed out.
I look to writing as an escape.
My mind is always full of ideas, too, which can be annoying at times.

I usually write love stories. Why? SImply because I'm a fifteen year old girl and like any typical teenage girl, I love love. :)
I don't necessarily write anything "dark" like death and suicidal, because that's too depressing. I mean, life is too short to be depressed all the time.

some people write about personal experiences, others about things they wish could have happened. there's a range of different genre's of stories/ poems/ songs ect. feel free to put forward or use some of the things here.

I myself get inspired by Degrassi: The Next Generation and stories about celebrities. I also like to write poems about realistic subjects such as bullies and, of course, my favorite famous people.

I wish I could just type anything and make it into a beautifully coherent story. But I have to put immense thought into every single little word. It makes it incredibly hard to produce anything fullfilling, as I'm always completely and perpetually terrified about what people will think of it. However, it's always my friends who read; they're not as biased as they could be, but I would love some constructive criticism off of strangers once in a while. just, no one seems to read the work I produce. Sad

I daydream in long car rides or bus rides listening to my iPod, and usually something eventually comes to me.

Other times I'll be trying to sleep at like one in the morning, and an idea will randomly come. Then I write it down and look at it the next day, and have no clue in hell what my idea was.

Usually just a word, concept, or emotion will come to me or I'll encounter it and it will just strike me or stick with me. Before I know it, it's another story.

Stories come to me at random- I'll be listening to music, listening to a conversation on the bus, browsing through the photography on photobucket, out taking pictures of my loved ones, or simply sitting in the car alone, watching hte snow fall as my family does their weekly shopping at Wal-Mart.

    Almost anything inspires me.

And I almost always carry paper around with me, and currently, I have a book filled with over 100 ideas for stories, and proudly, as I am writing this, my brain in still forming basic plots.

Whenever I'm bored, I tend to go on Wikipedia and search up something [of late, it's been serial killers and paraphilias] and just keep clicking around on the related topics. It can take me strange places, haha.

But my most recent fic [unposted as yet] and one that's being written I go the ideas for because I came across a Wikipedia article.

If I really want to read a story and I can't find a story that fits my needs/wants, I generally just end up writing it.

    ^That happens to me!

Anything and everything can make me write. A painting, a song, a phrase. What really gets me started though, is if I hear a line in my head and I like it. I write it down and go from there.
