The Idea's that I get from watching crime shows and then I try to make my own, how criminal's come up with weird idea's that actually work, that's what interests me, and makes me want to write.

Modern adaptations of old stories, photographs, scenes I can put my characters in... and recently I've been getting a lot of ideas about strange pseudo-medical conditions.

I never write realistic fiction. It's too boring. I write fantasy. I tend to daydream a lot and I have a dream journal. So most of my ideas come from every day things, or my dreams. Other stuff my ideas come from are books, movies ect. I wrote a short story called Hush. It was inspired by Coraline. There's so many ways to get inspired. Also, when I read twilight it was "So the lion fell in love with the lamb" but I came up with, "So the spider fell in love with the fly." Doesn't that sound better?

I have a habit of reading manga (when the rest of my friends think that they're stupid). So when I lay in bed I think about what manga I read that day and how I can make my own original spin. After reading the final chapter of Full Metal Alchemist *cries* I pulled The Life of an Alchemist right out of my ass while thinking of it.

So my inspiration? Fantasy manga and sometimes movies, so sad :/

I write what I see in my dreams. Also when I go someplace, say a circus, I spend the entire time studying what they do and then in my head twist things around, though, most of the time I never finish writing it :\

There is a website called sixbillionsecrets.com, and one of the secrets that i read was very sad, but i think it could be a great basis for a story, and the secret was posted anonymously. I was wondering if this would be considered plagerism? The story would be a fanfic, and the plot itself would be original, and most of the characters, bar the obvious. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong thread.

Most of my ideas in the last fornight have come from the Twilight series. However, people seem to be offering up a lot of ideas to me, describing them in full detail how they want the ideas to be written into literature; they must think I'm a good writer. Twitch

Does this - the offering up of ideas - ever happen to any of you?

My dreams. Or interesting people that I have met, or things I see on a daily basis. Random things such as the ad on a shampoo label can turn into a story. Never happened, but it has sparked ideas for me.

I get a lot of ideas through some of the nightmares that I'm constantly having. I know it sounds strange, but I'm an insomniac because I have this nightmare disorder that stems from being mentally ill and writing out those nightmares are a huge therapy since I'm not all that great at verbally expressing things, y'know?

Other times, it's picking out certain lyrics from songs that really stand out. Most of the time, it's really just my personal thoughts and I just apply them to the characters. I don't know. It's weird, but that's how I do it.

Hmmm, usually watching my favorite tv shows or reading my favorite books or playing my favorite video games will inspire me to write, but usually it takes a good song (especially classic rock songs) that really inspire me. :)

I think most of the things I write about stem from things that I'd want to read myself that aren't written about enough. I also tend to draw inspiration from certain aspects of other novels, films, and television shows because I usually think to myself, "wow, I could do that so much better." XD

I usually just write about the crazy day dreams I have while I'm supposed to be paying attention to other things.

I normally get hit with inspiration after watching documentaries. Like yes, this factual recounting of this horrific event is interesting but how was it for the folks that actually experienced it, y'know? I think it's really interesting to think about where they were, and how they were feeling, and what they were doing at the time. It makes my mind go into overdrive and suddenly I have ALL OF THE IDEAS and not enough time to sort them all out. I also watch a lot of documentaries so it makes it a bit difficult but hey, you can't control where inspiration strikes, right?

I'm also quite prone to hearing one specific line from a song, thinking it'd make a good title and from there an idea will just bloom into something totally uncontrollable. I think that's why I start so many stories and don't finish them, I'm too busy getting inspiration from other songs lmfao

I don't have a particular thing I write about... I guess a majority of my stories have romance in them, but that's just because I'm a sucker for love. I guess also most of my characters are insecure about themselves and there's always someone who helps them realize that they're worth more than they think, or just merely accept them for who they are. (I think that's a reflection thing on my end)

Inspiration can come from anywhere with me music, quotes, if I find a tv program interesting or get obsessed with certain characters (this happens a lot)

Personally, I can't help but recommend one site I've been using for four years. This is a rare case when the price corresponds to the quality. Here is the link to dnp capstone project writers go and see for yourself. I think the price is affordable for everyone.

It's great to hear that you find inspiration in so many different things! Writing can be a great way to express oneself and process one's thoughts and emotions. It's also great that you have a support system in your friends, ResearchHero can help you overcome writer's block and work through difficult emotions.

It's important to note that writing can be a powerful tool for self-expression and healing, but it's essential to take care of oneself and seek support when needed. It's okay to take breaks and prioritize self-care when feeling overwhelmed or depressed.
