After I finish a page in Microsoft Word I have this weird habit of doing something for thirty seconds - five minutes in-between. Like checking my mibba, playing a game of freecell or somethign like that. Except when I'm really into it, then I don't stop or do anything until I finish what I want to get done.

I didn't realize this until my mom pointed it out to me, but I like to play with my piercings when I'm writing something, or editing something I've written. Like, I'll pause for a moment to re-read a sentence, and my hand will go to my septum and I'll fiddle around with it, or I'll revolve my plugs around in my ears thoughtfully...I'm way more aware of it now, and I kind of laugh when I realize I'm doing it.

    Certain songs get me going
And smoking a cig is always enlightening
Sometimes I'll take my zippo and keep flicking it on and off, the clinking sound get the wheels turning, and I like fire. I'll just sit there in the computer chair, smoking and flicking my zippo off and on, and usually it will get me in the mood to write

    Sometimes loud music really helps.
But sometimes I mix up the words with the lyrics.

I suck on pens or anything like that. :shifty

I've been doing it for about a year and a half and I've only just noticed this. I felt so stupid when I had it pointed out to me too!

I listen to fast music really really loud with headphones on, and try to type in time with it.
But sometimes I do weird things. Like, if I'm writing a really sad scene, I have a tendency to make myself cry.
And if I'm writing an argument I speed up writing, the same way the speed of your words increase when you're angry.

    skank.:
I pace. All the time. It's why I take so long to write.

Also, I never seem to be able to write during the day. It's always at night.
    That's pretty much me.

When I write is also the only point in the day when I'm at home that I turn my music off. I need absolute concentration, and the music takes that away.

I tilt my head to either side, randomly back and forth as I think. It's really weird.

I'll catch myself speaking randon dialogue for stories when Im' not even writing because it helps me flesh out ideas.

I get really jumping and I end up pacing and dancing. Then when I sit down, I write. But then I just noticed that I have a tendency to bite my lip and play with my tongue while doing it. I will also start shuffling my iPod like crazy and if I can, get my hands on a lighter and flick it on and off. I also tap my fingers like I am playing a piano or a guitar as I hit a rough spot.

While I'm writing something, I'll actually get another idea for a different story and start another one. I usually end up with three new stories a week. x.x

I have a tendency to chew on to the inside of my lip. And when I pause I do this weird thing where I look up and bite my lips and like, hesitate about a half a second with my hands over the keyboard.

I do that sometimes too! When I read I chew on the inside of my cheeks or lips. :tehe:

I have to listen to music that sets the mood of the story. I do a lot of one-shots for songs and I'm always listening to the song I'm writing about. I also pace a lot. Sometimes I get an idea from working on a story so I'll turn to a new page start writing that outline, and then switch around between the two resulting in an extremely screwed up notebook. It makes for difficult typing. :)

Well, I personally need to have music playing. There is no way in hell I can write in the silence. I often make the expressions I'm making my characters wear and then I feel stupid for glaring at my computer screen lmao.
I also realized recently that I write better when I'm tired. I think that's because when I"m wide awake, I'm thinking of other things as well.

Haha, I do the exact same thing. If I pause to re-read a sentence, my hand automatically goes to my lip and I pull the stud as far out as it can go. That or I'll push the spikes of my eyebrow ring into my thumb and index finger lmao

Call me the alphabet girl because between ADD and OCD, I'm surprised I get anything written. I wish I could have music on, but that just distracts me even more. I'll sometimes listen to a song before I start writing to get me in the mood. I fidget around a lot and can't write for too long a period at once, unfortunately, unless I'm really into the scene. And then, I'm just so picky about everything. I'll finish a paragraph and then reread over it and keep editing it over and over again. It takes me forever to finish a chapter because I never think it's good enough.

I usually write during my Thursday literature course. There's something about the professor's voice that lulls me into a writing state. It's pretty much the only time I can ever get any writing done.

Of course that means I miss out on alot of literature stuff. Everyone's got to make sacrifices, you know.

I put my feet up on my pc desk XD
    I crack my knuckles
    I stop and stare
I read over lines to see if they sound nice
I kind of reprimand myself when something isn't right
    I listen to slow-ish music
I check how many words I have
I lose myself in the writing

I always have a TV on or music. I also bite my nails when I'm reading over what I've written, and I bounce my leg while I'm writing.
