I'm related to Sir Henry Morgan.
He was one of the most notorious and successful Welsh pirates.
Even if I say so myself, I think that's pretty damn cool.

My great-grandfather was from Scotland. We can trace his clan back to vikings. There are names like that that make me giggle, too. tehe
I know, right? They're great. I found out recently that "Onid the Conquerer" is really Otto the Illustrious.

He was the great-grandson of Charlemagne. So I'm related to Charlemagne. And Louis the Pious, Emperor of the West.

I think it's really funny that it's all like, German and Saxon royalty on my mom's side, and my mom's relatives today are the.... not so classy ones. Lol! Rolling Eyes

I'm a direct descendant of a witch who was burned in the Salem Witch Trials, if that counts as cool.

My great-great-great x 7 grandmother was at Salem during the witch trials! She wasn't one of the accused, but she was there.

Isn't it weird to think that our ancestors might have like, known each other? Shocked

I'm not related to anyone important that I know of.
Although my surname is sweeney, which I always get Sweeney Todd jokes for. Cry
My friend Damien is related to Emily Davidson which to be honest, I think is totally unfair.
But then again, I'd be the weirdo bombing the Houses of Parliament. File

President Grant very distantly on my mothers side. And on my fathers side Governor George Wallace of Alabama, he ran for President, and survived a assassination attempt, however he wasn’t a very nice guy.

I don't think I'm related to anyone awesome from history. XD
My dad's side of the family came from Greece and they didn't come to the United States until my great grandparents moved here.

I do know that my grandfather on my mom's side fought in WWII though. My mom told me he never liked to talk about his experiences with it.

Elvis Presley once performed at the high school I go to. And even though I'm not related to him, I thought it was pretty cool.

My uncle traced my family history on my mom's side extremly far back... I was surprised at some of these:
Zachariah Rhodes (one of the founders of Rhode Island, and was thrown in jail for saying "The church has not to do with matters of state" when he refused to pay a bridge toll that went to the church), William The Conquerer, and... this really, really suprised me: Alexander The Great.

I wouldn't know.... my mom is adopted and I don't know my dad.
But Mom and I are pretty sure we're Italian mixed with some other stuff... I'm pretty sure that we have some Native American ancestors, too. So who knows. I really wish I knew, though... I love learning about ancestory and history. =]

My grandfather on my mom's side found that my great xhowever many grandfather was a high aide to Catherine of Aragon's father. That's pretty cool.
My dad claims that my great grandfather on his side, knew Mussolini personally. I kind of really don't believe that but it would be cool.

I also went to school with a girl whose grandfather is Tony Aiello from Moonstruck.
And Malcolm X's grandson went to my high school.
