Hmm, it's interesting reading all these. I was redirected here by a Mod for opinions on what makes a good site. I'm kind of amazed that Wattpad's apparently that bad to be honest, it looks so... professional.

But I guess looks aren't everything. Some of the most run-of-the-mill forums I've been on have been the most successful.

I tried Wattpad and hated it. They don't have any quality control at all. Some of the stories were written like : " hey! My name is lizzie nd im totes in luv wit one direction they r so hott ;)" I also tried Figment but people were always spamming and trying to get votes for their stories. File
Haha!! I agree with you completely. I use to write on wattpad all the time but I never really read anything on their then one day I was like I'm going to look around at everything... Then I was like, wow. Like I know I'm not an amazing write but I do use full words that can actually be found in dictionary. But, it was thanks to Wattpad that I found Mibba and all you amazing people :)

One other thing that I really hate about wattpad. If you type in one direction in the discover bar the top story has
    16,605,384 readers
    137,053 recs
    26,937 comments

Like, what? I know 1 direction has a big fanbase but Wattpad always feature 1D stories...

I occasionally go on Wattpad to read some of the good fan fictions on there. A lot of the grammar there sucks, and a lot of the plots are cliche. I used to use it more before One Direction got so popular. One Direction fan fictions seem to be the only stories left in that site. A lot of them are poorly written, like I've said before. It's extremely bothersome. At least on Mibba there a bit more variety.

Uhh. The only website that I don't think has been said yet is WorthOfPublishing.com.

It's okay, but I still like Mibba better. Not a lot of fan fictions on there, and no one ever seems to give you feed back =/

Mibba is good , but Wattpad (wattpad.com) is also good and Asianfanfics (asianfanfics.com) - Good too , but I think that it's full of k-pop and stuff like that. Mr. Green

I use Wattpad and I must be one of the few who like it. I'd put my highest-read story 'High Love' on here but it's co-written with my best friend and I don't know if she wants to make an account here.

I used Quotev but its so terrible... Heaps of drama and teenagers. The stories are poorly written to the point where i'd rather read on Quizilla and the first time I joined I got told to go kill myself because I don't like Ed Sheeran (which I laughed at)
It's only good for role playing, but since my account got deleted for some reason I have no one to roleplay with.

I miss the chat room on here because the forums overwhelm me but I'm usually on the forum section.
Plus there were heaps of inside jokes and such.

Scribophile (sp?) Is a good online community if you're looking for serious (like writing/publishing a novel serious) feedback. There's an option to pay, which gets you more reviews.

One Direction does have a big fanbase, but there are some good stories. I find it rather hard to get your story to be "successful" if you're writing and fan fiction about One Direction.

The stories that are "poorly written" (not saying mine is any better) makes me cringe. I wish the world doesn't have any writing like that, I think they don't even take writing seriously-- some people dedicate their lives to write and create amazing characters.

But anyways, if you're wanting to become a writer on Wattpad. Don't do a fan fiction about One Direction (as much as you'd like too) it's obvious that chances are very slim. I advise to do an original fiction piece, when it becomes "successful" you should do a One Direction fan fiction.

Of course you are risking some readers but authors need to take chances, right?

Oh my god, don't even get me STARTED on Quoetv (I sound like some critique blogger but whatever) I tried it, the stories were terrible. I did come across some detailed good pieces of work but those stories never got any good attention they deserved.

Some were like; "My name is Lizzie and like i have brown hair (sometimes it gets wavy) see image above^ i'm soo in love with harrry styles from one direction! we like had sex and now i'm stuck with a baby!"

I understand you eventually have to explain the back story of the characters but seriously? Like just no. I don't like how Quoetv has "followers" it offends me.

You can't judge someone by how many followers someone has, some people with few followers had A+ quality in their stories! One of the reasons why I like Mibba, no followers.

I actually don't want to write one direction fanfiction. I despise the band, but it annoys me that they get lots of coverage when 90% of the stories have over used plot lines and aren't very creative at all.

Or the stories with the roleplay-like bios at the beginning. NO... That is not how you write a story! You let the characters slowly develop.
I mean, I wrote like that when I was 10-12 but these people are like... 16!

Everyone's so immature on there. They blocked my I.P address after I told some girls off for being rude to me, when they thought I was picking on THEM! (I don't even know what happened. I was half asleep)

I have been getting into figment again, and I'm really liking it. I mean, it's not as great as mibba, but I have found a few wonderful stories on there.

There's Movellas, it's alright but I don't think anything can top Mibba.
Movellas is very big on fan fiction, but if you're looking for anything other than One Direction fan fictions, it would be best to stray away from it.

Wattpad is a great site but I feel like Mibba is more advanced, I once stumbled upon a story and all she used for her dialogue was "said". I mean it's okay to use it once and awhile but seriously. I have to admit I used to be like that until I found Mibba and I gained experience quickly.

I really like Archive of Our Own for fanfiction. It's so much more organized and streamlined than Mibba and FF.net.

I have posted most of my stories that are on here on that website too. It has a Mibba community type feel to it and I've made a lot of friends on it. I get some pretty great feedback on my stories as well.
