That is annoying, hell they even had Pam eying up Sookie right away. Personally, I have a major love/hate feeling towards Sookie. Every time she does something awesome, she turns around and does something epically stupid.

I just don't know if the set up is in the show for an Eric/Sookie hookup and if they could make it, not just another extraordinary guy going gaga over Sookie. In the books, it seemed so well put together.

I think I'm very biased because I've read all the books and I kinda just wanted Bill to OWN the fact that he was an asshat who would fuck the world over if it served his purpose. It's just interesting to me. Bill Compton is basically the walking dead dictionary entry for asshat.
I like her in the books, because she has that more girlpower thing going on for her there. But in the show it's like she depends on Bill as much as fat kids depend on vending machines. Seriously girl, grow a pair and do something yourself instead of just sitting around and crying all the effing time about everything and nothing to that dead boyfriend of yours.

Unfortunately it seems like they've messed up the Eric/Sookie thing in the show, I mean, in the books he's not as pussy ass lame about her as he is in the show. Bleh is really all I can say. Though I hope she ends up marrying him in the show as well, just because I know I'll laugh a lot. x'D

Bill really is a butthole, and it's irksome how they're trying to deny it. No, you can't deny it. He's a jerk. A selfish jerk. That's just the way his character is, period. Stop denying it.

^ Oh God, yes. SOOKIE CRIES SO MUCH.
The only characters I really liked in Season 3 were Franklin, Talbot and Russell, and they're all dead D:

^ Franklin was amazing. Know who else cries ALL THE TIME? Tara. Seriously, her character went even more downhill in the third season. Man up girl, stop crying.

^^ Well supposedly Russell may come back eventually, or at least the actor who played him said he would like to come back. Right now it's all internet rumors.

^ I actually loved Tara season 1 & most of 2, but season 3 she just annoyed me. Disgust

    ---

Sookie was so much better in the books, especially around books 3 - 6. On the show the coolest thing she did was the fight with Debbie in her house, maybe you can count her fighting off Rene but even then I think Sam or Bill showed up to save her. Disgust

In the books Eric was kinda an ass, but you always could understand where he was coming from. On the show they act like they can't decide what Eric is like, and every time they try to add depth to his character he comes off looking like a whiny bitch rather than a powerful vampire who has survived pretty much on his own for over 1000 years.

Hopefully they will do what they did in the books and ship Bill off to a far away country...Wait didn't he turn on the queen in the last show? Season 3 confused the hell outta me.

^ Sookie is like a hillbilly Bella Swan in the show, seriously.
(And I like Twilight, but Bella is supposed to be fairly weak and depend on Edward WAY too much. Sookie isn't supposed to be that type of girl, not in the books)

OH MY GOD YES! I think he needs to be an ass with a deep side to him. An ass where you can still tip your head to the side, nod slightly and go "oh yeah, well, I get why he did that." The Eric he is on the show is either just a jerk or he sits around moping over how Sookie doesn't want him or some other shit. MAN UP!

That last episode of season 3 was just annoying. Seriously. I hope Sookie stays in that fairyland and that Bill gets his ass royally kicked by the queen - who is also a whiny annoying character.

^^ I think what makes my views on Sookie and Bella so different is that Sookie is roughly 10 years older than Bella.
I had assumed when I went into the later Twilight books, as a fan, that Bella would grow into a more independent person because of her deals with the supernatural world. At the same point I think the Sookie books show a progression of different reactions to the various Supe business Sookie gets wrapped up in. Sure Sookie might not react as a fan would want but in the the books she has a lot of fucked up shit happen in her life, the reader can sympathize if she doesn't handle it well. I think the problem is that the shows never gave Sookie more than that one note "oh it's okay Bill/Sam/Eric/Jason/Alcide will save me".

I HATED the way they handled the fairy storyline. I think season three would have better utilized the 12 episode limit if they would have stuck to just the Mississippi arc and dealt with the aftermath of the chaos at the Merlotte's. To me, the last two seasons have seemed imbalanced with the time they split between the various stories. (aka: the never-ending orgies and 2 days in Dallas) I also think a few month time jump wouldn't kill the show, having the entire series only be over the period of roughly 6 months (Hell the last 2 seasons I think all happened over 3 week time) seems ridiculous.

Agreed that in the books Sookie is nothing like Bella, but in the tv-show she kinda is. And that's what annoys me. Bella is supposed to be that way. That's the way her character was created and it suits the story. I like that Bella, because she couldn't be anything else, it wouldn't work with the universe Meyer has created. However, Sookie isn't supposed to be all "oh gooosh, save me guys" and that's what really gets to me. No, she's not like that, why is the acting like such a wuss in the show? GRR!

The timeline is not only ridiculous but annoying as well. It doesn't feel real since everything happens so incredibly fast and it's just.. no. Not plausible. It's as if everything just falls on top of Sookie every step she takes, and she never gets even an hour to relax. It's too much, I'd love a time jump as well.

I've recently gotten hooked on this show thanks to my best friend.
    :]
I have to finish watching season three, but the OnDemand is being a butthole right now, so I can't watch it. I've seen the first two episodes from that season.

Season Three starts on FX on Friday over here in the UK. I've already watched it, but my mum's partner likes to watch the show with me (it's some weird kind of bonding thing, I guess), so he's excited to see it. Thankfully when the sex scenes come on, we just look at each other and giggle. Not sure how he'll react when the Eric/Talbot one appears though tehe

We welcome anyone to join this True Blood RP. The rules are pretty simple and we could use more people.

I'm currently watching the end of the second season. I love Godric sooooooooo much. In Love I'm glad I gave this show a chance. When I have the time I'll start reading the books.

    I totally agree.

I think what killed me was Godric's calmness and Eric's desperation to keep him alive.

Also, their convsation in Swedish and the beautiful way it was portrayed. Cry

    I need a hug

Though...i am not watching the third season, i read online that Australia won't get it on DVD until like august No

    Billie Joe Armstrong:
My mom doesn't like it much. She doesn't like the nakedness. XD
But my mom loves vampires. We used to watch Angel together and she still watches Buffy and Angel. XD
But I dunno.. she can't get over all the sex scenes on TB. I can kinda see why she has an issue with that though.
sorry for the random quoting, but my mother is like that too. She didn't know i had the DVDs despite the fact i am 19, and insisted on me telling her why it was rated R 19+ which was a little embaressing....

...she doesn't like me watching it, but so long as i dont show my sister or leave it lying around, i can still watch it Disgust

Does anyone know where I can watch season three online besides hulu.com? I'm impatient and don't want to wait for the DVD when it comes out in May, and the countless four minute clips on youtube are not enough.
