- I do have a question. You know how people think that Hanukkah and Christmas are our "big" holidays just because they're close together? Well, I know that my big holiday is Easter (obvious reasons haha) but what it is the really important holiday for the Jewish faith? I've always been curious.
The two most important days for Jews are Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish new year. Common celebrations on Rosh Hashanah include blowing the Shofar, and eating apples and honey (signifying a sweet new year). I've always found the sound of the Shofar to be a bit annoying and harsh on the ears, but I love apples and honey :D
Yom Kippur takes place ten days later, and it's a day where we're supposed to ask for forgiveness from the people we've hurt over the past year, and forgive those who have hurt us. This is also the day when your year is sealed in god's book of life. Technically you're supposed to fast for the day, and even though I should because I'm older than thirteen, I never have.
