A lot of us make mistakes on account of peer pressure. Has it impacted your life at all? Is there anything you wish you hadn't done or are glad you have after being pressured?

I was peer pressured to not tell on a guy because he brought bullets to school. Apparently, it made him "cool" and I'd be a bitch to tell on him.

Even though I had a pissy fit, someone else told on him and I was happy.

    I mean, it's wrong.

I've been peer- pressured to smoke, though I never gave in.
I don't want to look like a 50 year old by the time I'm 21, thanks.

I've never really been peer pressured into anything. I thankfully got the right handful of friends, I guess?

I don't believe in Peer Pressure. Everything you do is up to your own devices, and isn't influanced by others, even though you may get ideas from others.

I've tried to be peer pressured into things. But I never really gave in unless it was something like a game of tag or something. But nothing quite big. If I think some is wrong or I really don't want to do it then I trust myself that I made the right decision.

I've been peer pressured into drinking when I wasn't comfortable, and to hook up with guys in their twenties - when I was fourteen, too.

Luckily I have been able to weed out all the people that try to pressure me into doing things that I don't want to do.

    I have great friends now.

I've usually had pretty good friends who won't peer pressure me.
I refuse to give in to peer pressure when it does occur. I'm not the kind of person who caves in to fit in. I don't mind being an outsider. I just do what I want, and too bad to those who think I have to do something to be cool.

I haven't smoked ciggarettes out of personal choice.

On Sunday I was pressured into a threesome among my best friend and her boyfriend.
I told him no countless times until I finally said yes.
At the time it seemed like a whatever thing; but when I thought about it later I broke down and wished I never went through with it.

They're both trying to tell me to forget it- but they obviously have no idea what it put me through and how hard it is to get over- I can't even look at her boyfriend.

People have tried it on me, but I have never been pressured into anything I didn't want to do.

With me I don't do what people want me to do...I only do it if it strikes me as interesting or if I think it's the smart thing to do.

If people call me a chicken or whatever because I won't do somethign stupid then I have two words for them..."Fuck you."

I get peer pressured into drugs a lot. I never give in though. Drugs don't appeal to me at all.
People who try to make me do stuff I usually try and not be around. If they're going to pressure you into stuff then they're not worth it.

I've always been really good when it comes to peer pressure.
It's just a state of mind. Either you get sucked into it, or don't.
I guess I'm just lucky that way.
All my friends have been either ; drunk, stoned, sexually active in one way or another, doing dangerous things, doing hurtful things to other people, or just plain stupid things. They didn't want to do it though.
They did it because of peer pressure. argg life would be just so much easier without it.
I just steer clear of it, and damn i've been doing a good job :]

    That's really good to hear.
So many people succumb into peer pressure, it's pathetic.
People need to grow a back bone, and form their own minds.

    Not necessarily;
I mean I can see what you mean by that, but when you're alone on the spot and you get nervous, its almost like you just get pushed to do it.

It's always your own choice but some people are better at manipulating and influencing you. And being pushed to do something you're uncomfortable is peer pressure, babe.

Just curious, I know that you said no, and snaps for you for saying no to something you didn't like, but why did you give in? Where you afraid of what they'd think of you? (Less likely, I think.) Or were you just plain tired of saying no and getting nowhere?

I've been pressured. When I was younger I tended to give in, because I wanted to fit in.

I think since the fifth grade, though, I've built up some resilience; which I can say has done me well since I've been in high school.

A lot of people I knew in primary school have changed as a result of peer pressure, a prime example being one girl who has gone from a healthy size to something almost grotesque.

Its not that I didn't care what my friend's boyfriend thought of me, but no matter how many times I said no and no matter how many times I said I didn't want to he wouldn't shut up about it.
