My first job was at McDonalds. I applied for so many but that was the only place that wanted to hire me, because I think i was around 14. It felt like being in the army.
I made lots of friends, because there's so many employeres there, but you weren't ever alowed to just stand there, you always had to be doing something.
And because there was so many workers there I felt like I was just like another robot with a McDonalds uniform on. I had to wear a hat and proper unform and stuff, you could only wear one type of earrings and no jewelry what so ever. We all looked the same.
I quit because I got sick of it, and about a year and a half later I applied for a job at this little shop at my local shopping center, and I got it :)
There's only 5 people that work there and 2 people that own it, and it's this cute little hippy shop and we sell crystals and jewelry and stuff. I love it!
McDonalds was my first too. Terrible, terrible job - I definitely feel you on that part. Manager never gave the raises she was supposed to. But I did gain an awfully good work ethic from there and I don't regret it. I don't think I could've found a better first job. It really taught me how a day of work felt.

Now I work at Shop Rite, a super market that I believe is located mostly in the North East of the U.S. I really enjoy it, actually :)

I've just got my first job. I start work at Woolworths (it's a mainstream grocery store) as a 'Service Cashier', in other words I'm a checkout chick. Cute
I have to attend an 8 hour induction, but I get paid for it, then I have a probation period of six months as a casual before going on as part-time.

They're hiring around 5 or 6 of us, and starting us off gradually so I get to start next week. My managers seem really nice, and the shopping centre it's in isn't too big, so I'm feeling good about it. I just hope my pay is okay, I keep forgetting to ask them. Plus, I don't want to seem desperate for the wages, either.

I just finished my second night at my job. I work at Pet Supplies "Plus" as a cashier. Hard work on my feet, and definitely keeps me working that multi-task part of my brain.

My first job was at a small cinema. It was the most amazing job with awesome co-workers, free movies and discounted candy bar. The only reason I'm not working there now is cause the boss was really mean. REALLY MEAN.

My first job is actually my current job.
I work at my school for the art teacher and it's 8 bucks an hour.
I got this job last year and it's a school year job, so once school starts back up again, I have a job already waiting for me. =) lol
It's a fairly easy job. Just clean up some art supplies like wash brushes and clean up after people and such. And I have to help some people on their art projects or stuff, but it's okay.
I like it, because it's easy and it's money. Very Happy haha

My current job is also my first job. Retail at Six Flags New England. I work in all the gift shops, candy stores, whatever carts, and cabanas and tubes in the water park. It's absolutely insane, and I have an extreme love-hate relationship with it. But it's generally a pretty fun time(:

My first job was at a grocery store in a small town in ND. I worked there for four years and I actually really enjoyed the actual job, even if I hated my boss and didn't like actually going to job. I liked being there, though. Getting to socialize and talk to people was something I really enjoyed about it. Smile I only left there because I moved to California, otherwise I would have stayed.

My first job is my current job. I get paid $7.50 an hour and I work at my local library about two miles away from my house. I volunteered at this library for 3 years to complete my school service hours and the head librarian told me she would give me a job if I ever wanted one when I turned 16. Before I started my junior year I went in to ask about the job and she had literally just given it to someone else :/ She said she definitely would've given me the job but couldn't now. However, this past summer she was able to give me the job and I love it :) It can be a little tough working and trying to do well in my senior year, but it's going okay so far. I tutor kids with their homework and help them study for tests. The kids range from first graders to seventh graders but we can help students who are up to 12th grade. The kids often bring in their tests to show us and it really makes me happy to see when they get a good grade because I know that I and my other employees, are doing our jobs right. I'll be sad when I graduate because I won't be able to work as a Teen Leadership Assistant anymore since it's only available to high school students :/

My first job was as a tattoo apprentice. It was alright but I was seriously stressed the whole time and I didn't last long. I sort of realised that I really don't want to work as an artist and quit. Plus, the place where I worked was really bitchy. D:

The job I have now is my first job. I work as a Stand Attendant in a cinema, so I'm left smelling horribly of popcorn and the syrup they put in drinks. I only get paid minimum wage, too, so it's hardly even worth it. I do like the job because the people I work with are lovely and we get along really well and it's a really laidback, friendly atmosphere with the managers, too. But I'm going to start looking for another one in the new year, I think.

My first job was at Popeye's when I was 16. I was making about 6.50 an hour and it was one of the best shittiest jobs I had. It was really fun and I worked there from June of 05 to December of 05 because I was working too much and my grades started to drop.

Grocery store making 8.80 an hour. And it wouldn't have been so horrible if the management wasn't so mean to its employees.

My first job was working at my brother's comic shop. I worked there for basically all of high school and I had a lot of fun. I met great people and I think I made about $7-8/hour. Not completely sure.
All I did was work the cash register and restocked once or twice.

My first job was Wendy's and it was a horrible experience for me. I was trained on the register by the manager for one order and then she left me on my own for lunch rush. Later she proceeded to yell at me for my very high order times. I had been working there for about three days and the manager said to me, "I hate when you come in because then I actually have to work to make up for how slow you are." I couldn't believe that. It was because she refused to train me that I was so slow. The manager and the other employees would bark orders at me in Spanish, even though I was not at all fluent in it (I'm minoring in it in college, but at the time, I had only taken one semester of it).

It was also very unsanitary and disgusting. I worked on Easter, and the same fish fillet that I fried on Easter was STILL sitting there when I came back to work on Wednesday (one of the other employees told me this the next time I came in). They just kept re-frying it every day and they actually served it to someone. I finally quit when I called in when I had a horrible stomach flu with a 102 degree fever. The manager that answered told me that was no excuse not to come to work and I would be fired if I did not come in. I absolutely refused to serve customers food when I was sick with something so contagious, so I quit. I had worked there for about 6 weeks. That, above all things that I saw when I worked there, disgusted me the most and I will NEVER eat at another Wendys or a different fast food place again. I understand that it's not the healthiest food, but that is just sick.

The first job I ever had is the job that I still have.

When I went off to college, I put in an application to work for the university's food services. Because I didn't specify where I wanted to work -- in one of four dining halls, a Chic-fil-a, several minor cafes, catering services -- I was randomly assigned to one of the dining halls.

I began Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at $7.60 an hour ($7.25 being minimum wage and the standard amount for any other student employee job). Each year I'm eligible for a fifteen cent raise -- so long as I work through final exams. Therefore, last school year I made $7.75 an hour, and this next year I expect to make $7.90. By my senior year, I'll be making $8.05.

I only work about eight hours a week so at most I make $200 a month, but it's gas money and the job gives me something to do -- not to mention talk about in future job interviews. Because face it, when I graduate, I'll have worked at the same place for four years, showing at the very least that I'm reliable.

Not to mention, I can always brag about being able to flip an omlette, one of the many skills I picked up.

My first job is my current job, I'm a Christmas Casual at Valleygirl, a trendy shop for girls. Way surprised when I got the call considering I had a really bad interview and I was not prepared AT ALL. I haven't started yet but I've registered my details and stuff so I'm super excited!
