- sushi may be quick, but its not really fast food. it has been spreading through the world but not in a way that forces other foods out.
Well, theoretically if you buy sushi ready-made from a sushi place then yeah - it is fast food. You went in, you bought it, you're out again. You didn't make it, someone else made it for you. That's always how I've seen fast food to be. Not necessarily fattening food, just ready-made food, or food that's being prepared for you at a shop.

I honestly don't know how some people can eat fast food all the time. It must get expensive. I have friends who work in the City, or at shopping complexes, and they buy their lunch from sandwich shops and cafes every day. At most normal sandwich bars or cafes, a roll or sandwich is usually between $6 - $8 (Australian money, obv.). Plus, there's drinks and coffee throughout the day they consume from cafes and coffee houses (on their breaks).
And these are the friends who always complain they're broke and can't go out on the weekend because they have no money. Errr....
I don't think I've succumb to fast food culture. I don't eat out very often because I quite like cooking. I can't stand a lot of the fast food giants such as McDonald's, KFC, Pizza Hut, Burger King etc. etc.
But I do love vegetarian sushi ;)
Even if it's fast food sushi.
