My tastes are pretty vast, with country, rap and most hip hop being very well out.

My favourites are progressive rock, progressive metal, psychedelic rock, art rock, ambient, drone and electronica.

I'll say punk, but it's a very loose definition. So generally exclude any modern punk bands out of that... they're different to what I like.

Nowadays I'm into a lot of indie, nu Britpop as well (like The Kooks or The Wombats). I find that genres are either too specific or too broad and exclude bands I like or include bands I really don't like. So. :tehe:

Rock has a pretty extensive variety but I'll use it anyway. Soft rock is alright and so is the heavier stuff, I listen to it all.

Ungh, I've decided that even thought neither of my two favourite bands do this... vocalists that scream. And sound like total demons: really high pitched and scratchy. And when they sound like they're really just shouting, but... screaming.
    Like Leathermouth. :yah
I like hearing people screaming. :shifty

Folk, and most types of rock.
    Blues and pop.

I know it's not a genre, but most of the bands I like are British Invasion :shifty

And my favorite subgenre of rock is probably garage rock.

It's basically a sub(ad infinitum) genre of every kind of rock plus oranges, spoons, and glory.
