So far in my life, anywhere I go people make fun of me because of my name.
My first name is Butterfly. I don't see what's so strange about it. Of course, my obsession with butterflies tends to make it worse.

I move around quite a lot, so as soon as my friends start getting used to my name and don't pay any attention to it, I have to start over in another place.
I'm not depressed over this fact, because, on the contrary, I love my name.
My nickname is Fly. My little brother couldn't say the whole thing when he was a baby, so he made up a new one.

It's strange that wherever I go, the the word is recognized and most people know its meaning. Even if it's not an English speaking country.

Anyways I know millions of lame butterfly jokes, by now. Have you had the same problem?

    That's so cool. I'm jealous.
My first name is Megan. I despise it.
I mean, I have nothing against the name "Megan", it's just too....common for me.

I used to get made fun of for my name being Dana. Simply because it was first a guys name before it bacame a girls. I was named after my great grandmother E-dana. And I'm thankful they didn't give me the full name.

I happen to like your name because it is very unique. My name is Beth & i practically cringe at how ordinary & mundane it is.

    Cassandra's quite a nice name!
But I can empathise with it 'not being you'.
I love the name Cassie or Cass, though.

    My name's Samantha.
    It's awful! :XD
    It doesn't suit me.
Luckily, people tend to call me Pansy.
    Even my friend's parents, haha.
(I have no clue why, really.)

And people who don't know me what well called me Sam, which is better.

Yeah. My surname is Hancock, which isn't a weird name, but as a kid I was teased constantly because my name has a synonym for penis in it. Lame. I mean, I find it pretty funny when my friends do it, but other people... It's like, yeah, that's been my name for the past 17 years, I think I might have noticed by now.

People used to come up to me and be all 'is your dad called Tony?' and when I said no, they'd point out the various parts of the anatomy as 'toe, knee, hand, cock'. The novelty soon wore off.

    My name's Amber.
Throughout my life I've heard so many traffic light jokes, the next person to make one awaits a punch in the chops. :P

I like my name though, I can write grim poetry with silly puns about being "semi-precious".

    Yeah, my name's Rhianna.. ¬_¬

I get compared to the singer so much, it's not even funny. >;/
Our names aren't spelt the same and I look nothing like her.
I especially hate when people hear my name, and think I'm named after her.
Uhh... hello? She's like five years older than me. @_o
It's so much easier just to get people to call me Rhi. :file:

I have a funny story. :P In the 1900's, our constant family name was Ezekiel. Every first son was named that. I was reading through our family records and I have no idea how the fuck this happened, but a son was born and they were going to name him Ezekiel, but the census came before they had officially named him. So the census dubbed him Earl. When Earl grew up he wanted to be called Ezekiel, but then he decided Earl sounded better than Ezekiel when his mom was calling him for dinner. So now I have 2 Grandfathers named Earl. My name is Kelsey, from our Scottish heritage, my middle name is Carruthers. My family is into heritage. And according to my history teacher my last name means that I have Viking descent. Our ancestors had some weird names, Baughman Magil was one, Leopold Eidlitz, and a ton more.

    ^:tehe: Sorry I couldn't help it. :shifty

My first name is Avrille (the month I'm born in) and my initials are ABC. I used to get so much shit hung on me as a kid with my name and initials. Disgust

Now, since Avril Lavinge came along people can pronounce my name, which is nice for once....but so many of them spell my name like "Avril" then I'll go: "A-v-r-i double l-e."

It irks me more when they try to convince me I'm spelling my name wrong. I've been using this name for 17 years of life already, don't you think I'd know how to spell it already? :hand:

My real first name is maori. I was named after my great-great-great-aunt. It's almost impossible for people to say my name correctly without having to go through an entire lesson on the phonics of it.

So, I instead began calling myself Evie and it stuck. Now it's pretty much the alias I use everywhere. I've convinced many of my friends to call me it - it's easier. Don't ask me why Evie, though. I'm not even sure why.

And my middle name is May. I do like my middle name, but it's quite funny really. It was meant to be June, after my grandmother, but then I was born in May, so lo and behold. There's my middle name.

So, I just go by Evie May.
    :tehe:
Sounds a hell of a lot better than... Rerewa... *cringe*
I truly despise my first name.

My real name's Minette, which is where Mint came from.
Nobody really teases me about Minette. I tease myself. I hate it. Everybody else seems to think it's "a super cute name OMG!" though.

I don't get teased with Mint, but people ask me why Mint. It's been my nickname since first grade and it stuck. Yes, it is my real name. My parents call me Mint. My siblings call me Mint. My teachers call me Mint.

    I went off-topic for a bit there, didn't I?

My real name is Jaccquelyn. People call me Jack-O-Lantern sometimes around Halloween, I hate it so much! Wazuuup

I'm not sure who came up with Luna, but it stuck. I do know that my parents have called me it ever since I was little. It's not my legal name or anything, but I think it's fitting, so I sort of consider it to be my true name, silly as that sounds.

    My name is Samya.
I don't really get teased ever, but most people can never pronounce it the first time. It's exactly how it looks, "sam-yuh".
I get called Sam a lot by my family and close friends, which I like. I don't mind Samya though. The only thing I can't stand is Sammy. I'm just not a Sammy.
