    My real name is Alexandria.
People are always telling me I've got a pretty name.

Most people know me by the name of Max. I don't think many people even remember my name. They just call me that.
I get teased often because my nickname is Max and it's a boys name and I'm obviously a girl. People also tease me on the reason why I got the nickname.

I love the name 'Butterfly'...mine is so boring..so common. I think I may legally change it someday..it..just...doesn't fit me. 'Catherine', nope, doesn't work..maybe I can find a nice nickname...hmm. Seeing as it may break my parents' hearts if I change my name.

I have the name Lydia, which I actually love.

But I get crap for it rhyming with Encyclopedia, which is part of a song or something and apparently my name is fun to sing so people do it often.

I do love my name though. I don't get that much crap for it. And I like a lot of people's names here.

I like the fact that your nickname's Max. Like Maximum Ride. :tehe: Sorry, inside joke. I just love the book.

I don't particularly like the fact that my name's Alyssa since it's one of those names where it has so many variants that I always have to spell it out for them. (Alissa, Alysa, etc.) And then there's the case about pronouncing it which I personally don't have a problem with. How my family pronounces it and how the general public does are pretty much different. For my family, it's Al-ee-suh. For the public, Al-is-uh.

I guess if it were up to me, I would name myself Alexiane. :XD

My real name is Siobhan. I've never met another Siobhan in real life, but I understand it's quite common overseas. :XD I've met only TWO people so far who've said it right on the first try - both teachers - and everyone else just kills it. >.>
I have heard so many different massacres of it. Sigh-oh-ban is the most common, but I've gotten See-bo-hon and even Sabrina before. That was weird.

I was teased in like sixth grade, but it wasn't so bad. They just called me 'She-bang' a lot and told teachers that is was pronounced like that. Disgust Most of the time people just tell me it's pretty.

My middle names are Roca and Payne. :tehe: I love Payne.

I think Butterfly is a pretty name. :cute:

I dislike my name. Tara. It's not that I think it's ugly or anything it's just that everyone pronounces it wrong. "Tar-ah" is correct not Terra... It just weirds me out that everyone assumes the second one. I wish my parents had given me a more unique name or something pretty.

^ I don't understand how anybody could mistake it for Terra. :tehe:

I was going to be called Jorja. Which I really like. But no, I got Megan. Disgust

    My real name is Adrienne.

People tell me it's not that bad of a name, but I've always thought of it sounding way too boyish (considering that it could be both a boy's name and a girl's name, depending on the spelling).

Basically, as long as I can remember, ridiculously monotonous, repetitive Rocky Balboa jokes have been a pretty significant aspect of my life. Also, the fact that because my version of the name Adrienne, just happens to be one of the longest-spelled version of it (out of Adrien Adrian, etc.) nobody ever remembers how to spell it. Everyone I meet also seems to have a problem pronouncing, reading it on paper, and then still remembering it afterward. Therefore, I've been called Andrea, Adrianna, Andrien, (I even got Allison, at one point) and bunch of other alternatives, for years.

I won't give my birth name (but I consider my true name to be "Ryter" ), but people tend to mispronounce it. I have yet to meet a single teacher that said my name right on the first three tries. I don't get bitter. Rather, I get amused :]

My name isn't weird but I'm always teased about it.
    Darla.

Those old "Our Gang" shows and the "Little Rascals" movie. Or something. I don't know anything about how my name came to be other than my Mom named me because she hates the name Stephanie and my father already named my sister before me.

Then you have the vampire obsessed people that comment about the character "Darla" on Angel and Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

I searched my name on wikipedia and found that there's a "Darla Records." That's wicked cool even if I only know of one band on the label. [/spam]

My last name sounds like the game "Bop-It".
So people would start singing it as soon as they saw me. >_<
And people can't say my name without saying my last name too.
    Seriously.
    "Hey guys! It's Erin Bop-It!"
    Even teachers. :grmml:

My first name is fine, but my surname is Pockett.

Which provokes a lot of Polly Pocket jokes.
Lots of teachers at my old school called me Polly. Which wasn't amusing.

I think your name is amazing. I suppose people make fun of it because it is different but being unique is better than having a commom and boring name. Love your name because it's brilliant!

I absolutely adore the name Butterfly. =) It is so unique and pretty.
My name isn't dull but it isn't great.
    Miranda.
Kids used to always say "Mir-an-DUH!" -rolls eyes-
I also get strangely annoyed when people call me Maranda.
Also, unless they see it on paper, people tend to forget it. I'm told that for the first few years of my life, my distant relatives called me "The porch". You see, Miranda rhymes with Veranda[sp?], which is another name for a deck or a porch. Yeah...
I also used to get teased when other kids heard my family calling me "Boo." Apparently, I was very amused by that "Peek-a-boo" game as an enfant and the name stuck.
Then my grandma somehow brought Annie-Boo into that, which I have absolutely no clue where she got Annie from.
Anyway, I'm rambling. Butterfly is a gorgeous name, don't listen to all the jealous people. =)

Thanks to all of you guys who complimented my name. I wish you had been there on every one of my first days of school. I wouldn't have felt so annoyed by society in general.

Of course I do like my own name and I don't ridicule my parents for naming me that. It's those other people that think they're cool and insult people like me and you who have unique or different names.
