My name is Alexandra. I do like my name, and I am glad my parents didn't name me something that's extremely popular. However, my nickname is 'Allie'. And although it fits me perfectly, I hate how plain it is. It's extremely common too. Everywhere I look, I meet someone named Allie.

All my teachers give me weird looks when I tell them my nickname. They think it should be 'Alex'. And when I tell people my name is 'Allie', they think it's short for Allison. It's NOT. I don't really like that name much. It's kind of plain.

But my point is, I wish I could've been named something that is more unique, but still as classic and beautiful.

Butterfly is such a pretty name! My name is Kay-Ann and I dislike it. People always misspell it either Kay-Anne or Kayanne. No. It's Kay-Ann. And you can never find anything with your name on it! Nothing! Unless you get it customized specifically for you!

But "Kay-Ann" is not my first name, it's my middle name. My first name is HORRIBLE! My dad picked it out because of the meaning, but I hate it. It's another unusual name. And I've been told that it sounds like a "stripper name".

I desperately want to drop my first name. It's terrible.

My name is Katie, which I hate because it was the most common name of girls born in Ireland in 1998, which means there are Katies everywhere. My middle name is Genevieve, pronounced the French way, and I love it. I really wish I'd been called Genevieve instead of Katie :(

    @ demolition lover;
When you're old enough you can legally change it. Maybe even before, if your parents give their concent. It should be an easy process since it's already your middle name.

I doubt I'll ever legally change it, because it holds a lot of meaning to my family. But if I ever get any writing published, I'd like to have it published under Genevieve because I feel that Genevieve suits me better. Katie is very meaningful but it doesn't mean much to me as a person or represent me the way I'd like a name to.

Your name is wonderful! I know a girl who's name is Song and her last name is pronounced 'bird" but its spelled differently.

Anyway my name's Mahuwena (pronounced mow-when-ah)and people always butcher it, no matter how many times I sound it out for them. I used to get teased a lot for it in high school, but then I transferred and it was a lot better.

I couldn't even pronounce my middle name when I was younger and I still hate it because it sounds like someones saying "Jelly" in a french accent.

    Thanks dad. :<

My mom teases me about my name. She says Druscilla was an ugly stepsister from Cinderella, but that was Drizella.

A lot of people can't pronounce my name properly even though it's not all that hard to. I think.
    Melaia (pronounce Me-lah-ee-ah).
I make everyone who can't say it right call me Mel instead.
    Hm.

My name is Jade, so I understand the sentiment. Weird names are actually pretty fun, though, when it comes down to it. People won't ever forget you, y'know?

My mother named me after Bruce Springsteen's ex-wife (Julianne Phillips) so based on that alone I find it very hard to hate my first name. Smile

My middle name comes from my grandmother, so my full name is Julianne Angelina. My initials are JAP, which people get a kick out of when they realize it, but it doesn't bother me much. My last name is very foreign-sounding (it's Slovakian) so I used to get embarrassed by it easily.

But I'm okay with it now. I almost always go by Jewel but my friends/family have a bunch of different nicknames for me so my full name is usually just a school thing. I'm glad my parents didn't name me something extremely common or extremely weird, though.

My name is Eryn. Just plain ol' Eryn. When I was younger, my brother and everyone else in my family would call me "Air-head". Because well, I can be one. I actually dig my name a lot. Though, back at my old school, we'd have a lot of foreign subs that almost didn't speak English, so they would butcher a simple name like mine. I'm heard Er-een, Ellyn, Arina, and a few others.

    It's Eryn. ERYN. AIR-IN.

My ex is starting to call our daughter Kay-lizzle, because her name is Kaylyn. I'm just like "uh how 'bout no".

My first name is pretty average, Megan. I'm usually called May.
My middle name is also average, but its spelled weird. Elisabeth. There is no "z" and my mom makes it clear not to produce it with a "z" sound. So it's basically Elisa-Beth going on there.

What last name is the butt end of everyone's joke. It literally has "What" in the beginning. I'm not evening kidding. We make jokes in my family. We named our boat "What" so when people would ask the boats name, we could say "What". Facepalm

My name was originally supposed to be Mercedes Marie, and be called Sadie Marie. But nope. I get suck with plain ol Megan. It does not fit me whatsoever. I'm too abnormal for this name.

AND my brother and sister got pretty unique names. Hunter and Madaline, even my mom is Wendy. So I got the short end of the stick here Disgust

My name is Melanie and I absolutely despise it.

Where I live people aren't really used to that name and in elementary school they used to tease me and call me 'Melon'. Bothered the living heck out of me.
