Features of an Article

When posting an article, be sure to correctly input each feature described below.

Title: The title of your article will be displayed on the homepage and your userpage. Make sure it's properly capitalized and suits the article.

Lead Image: This is the image that will be associated with your article. It will appear in the text and as an icon on the site. You need to paste an image URL in this field, which can be obtained by right clicking on an image and selecting "copy image URL" or a similar phrase depending on your browser.

If you would like to use an image saved to your computer, you can upload it to a site like TinyPic or Imgur.

Lead: The lead of your article is a brief description of what your article will be about, just a short sentence or two.

Category: The category of your article helps organize it on Mibba. We have four main types of articles, each with various subcategories. A complete list of article categories and descriptions can be found here.

Publishing Process

An article does not appear on Mibba immediately after submission. Article editors proofread and approve every article submitted to the site. This process can sometimes take a few days when a large volume of articles are pending. You can check the status of your pending articles here. When your article is approved, you will be awarded 50 points.

When your article is approved you will get an alert.

If your article is denied, an article editor will provide you with information as to why. Articles are typically denied for the following reasons:

  • Plagiarism: The article contained copy + pasted content.
  • Improper Grammar or Spelling: The article contained a large amount of errors.
  • The article was blog material or not the caliber of writing we expect from articles. The article section hosts thoughtful, expository writing.
  • Length: Articles less than 200 words will not be approved.

Users are allowed to resubmit an article after fixing the errors within it.

If you submit an article and it is not published within a few days, and you do not hear back from an editor, you can send a message to any article editor to inquire about the status of your article.
