Article Guidelines

This article covers the basis of the article section. If you have any questions about articles, you should contact an administator.

Article Rules

  1. Creative titles are encouraged, but must be relevant to the article.

  2. Spelling and grammar are essential to other users understanding an article. Articles with excessive spelling and and grammar mistakes will not be approved.

  3. Images must be between 150-350 pixels. An article editor can resize your image for you.

  4. The lead of an article should be concise and informative, and should not repeat the first paragraph of the article.

  5. Articles must be a minimum of 200 words. Filler text will result in article deletion.

  6. Articles must be correctly categorized. You can find an explanation of article categories here.

  7. Listing all relevant article tags ensures users can access your article through the search feature. Any irrelevant tags will be deleted.

  8. Incorrect formatting will result in article deletion in most cases. Mibba articles must be in block, paragraph format- do not use the tab key. Simply leave one blank line between paragraphs. Do not press enter after every sentence; your article must have paragraphs. Do not decorate text. Only use bold, italic, and underlined text when needed. Do not use smilies in articles or punctuation decorations (Example: ~**ArTiClE TiTlE**~)

  9. Articles must be informative, cohesive, and have a purpose applicable to a general audience. Personal writing should be posted as a blog.

  10. Plagiarism is strictly forbidden. Plagiarism will result in article deletion and a banning.

  11. Profanity is not allowed in articles unless it is used in a direct quote. Words that are considered inappropriate for articles and should be censored are B*tch, F*ck, *ss, D*ck, C*nt, P*ssy, Sh*t, C*ck, Sl*t, and Wh*re.

  12. Aside from the Rec's and Reviews category, the Mibba Magazine is restriced to magazine members only, however users are allowed to post as many Rec's and Reviews articles as they wish.

  13. Articles cannot promote potential health risks or illegal activities, and must be unoffending and appropriate for Mibba's general audience.

Guidelines

These are not rules and will not affect the approval of your article, but merely suggestions for a successful article.

  • Research is important to a successful article. Citing sources increases the credibility of your article and shows you know what you're talking about. You can find information here in our bibliography tutorial.

  • A lengthy article can include multiple images to mantain visual interest.

  • Headings are a great way to organize an article

Article Comment Rules

  1. All comments must be constructive. Whether you like a piece of writing or not, you cannot be rude and insulting.

  2. Posting spam comments (advertising links, unrelated comments, repeated comments, etc) will result in a banning .If you accidentally post repeated comments (Mibba messes up or you click submit more than once) simply message an admin so we can delete the comments- there isn't a consequence for accidents of course.

  3. Correct grammar and spelling is required in comments. Chat speak is not allowed.

  4. Excessive swearing will result in the deletion of your comment.
