Accessing Your Blogs

To get to your blog page, go to My Mibba >> Blog. Once you’re on your blog overview page (here), you’ll see three tabs.

The Blog Tab

The first tab is the Blog tab. Here, you’ll be able to view and edit your existing blog posts as well as post new blog posts.

To edit an existing blog post, simply click the “edit” button located underneath the title of the blog.

To delete an existing blog post, simply click the “delete” button located underneath the title of the blog.

To create a new blog post, click the aqua blue button on the right of the page, labeled “new blog entry” – this will redirect you to a new page.

The Categories Tab

The second tab is the Categories tab. Here, you’ll be able view and edit your existing blog categories as well as create new blog categories.

To edit an existing blog category, simply click the “edit” button located underneath the title of the category.

To delete an existing category post, simply click the “delete” button located underneath the title of the category.

To create a new category, click the aqua blue button on the right of the page, labeled “new category” – this will redirect you to a new page.

The Blog Layout Tab

The third tab is the Blog layout tab. Here, you’ll be able to view and edit your existing blog layouts as well as create new blog layouts.

To edit an existing blog layout, simply click the “edit” button located underneath the title of the layout.

To delete an existing blog layout, simply click the “delete” button located underneath the title of the layout.

To create a new blog layout, click the aqua blue button on the right of the page, labeled “new layout” – this will redirect you to a new page.

Once you’ve completely finished creating a layout, you can make that layout public by clicking the button labeled “share”, located underneath the title of the layout.

To set a specific blog layout as your blog layout, click the button labeled “set as my layout”, located underneath the title of the layout you want to use.

Posting A Blog Entry

To post a new blog entry, go to the New Blog Entry page.

On this page, there are just three forms to fill out: the title, the content, and the category.

Title

Remember that all titles must be properly capitalized and include proper spelling. Also, while profanity is allowed in the content of your blogs, profanity is NOT allowed in your blogs' titles.

^{All words in a title should be capitalized, with these few exceptions: unless it’s the first or last word of a title, DO NOT capitalized little words like an, the, in, for, of, and, to, a, but, as, if, or, nor and prepositions.}

Content

The content of your blogs are up to you. Just remember these rules:

Proper spelling, grammar, and capitalization are required in all blog posts.
No bashing. This includes Mibbians, non-Mibbians, celebrities, politicians, books, movies, websites, institutions, you mom, your friend, that girl in your class you hate, that teacher who gave you a D, etc. NO BASHING OF ANY KIND. NO NAME-CALLING OR INSULTING. It is fine to discuss “negative” opinions (things you don’t like) but remain respectful.
Do not post irrelevant images in your blogs. Blogs on Mibba are meant to be more structure than the old journals were. This means that all images in your blog entry should be relevant to the entry. Excessive animated gifs are not allowed. It’s fine to use a couple but do not fill up your blog with gifs.
No spam. This means posting the same things over and over again, copy +pasting chain mail/letter. This also includes copy + pasting anything you did not write – while it’s okay to quote something, your entire blog post cannot be filled with work you didn’t create.

Categories

At the bottom of the “new blog entry” screen, there are two boxes underneath the “categories” label. The box on the right contains a list of your categories, the box on the left contains a list of categories you want applied to that specific post. To add a category from the box on the right to the box on the left, click the plus sign next to the category you want added.

Once you’re done completing all these steps, click “submit” button at the bottom, and then you’re done.

You should now be able to see your blog entry on Mibba’s Blog page.

Adding Blog Layouts to Your Blog

You can add one of two type of blog layouts to your blog: a blog layout you've created or a pre-made/shared blog layout.

To add a self-made blog layout:

Once you've created your custom layout(s)₁, it should appear on the blog layout page. To set a layout for your blog, simply click the "set as my layout" link located underneath the layout you want to use₂.

To add a shared/public blog layout:

To go to the shared/public blog layouts, go to Blogs >> Layouts. Once you've found one you'd like to use, just click the "use" button underneath the layout. When you do that, the layout will be applied to your blog.
