Mibba's General Use Rules

Mibba is a site for hosting almost any type of creative writing. So, there's places for articles, reviews, blogs, stories, and poems. With each section of the site there are a few rules that go along with it. In this article I am going to go over the general use rules. Maybe you'll learn something new. Even if you think you know all of the rules it never hurts to have a bit of a refresher.

Where can I find the guidelines for Mibba?

If you scroll to the bottom of the page you'll see a small blue navigation bar, the second to last link is called the Knowledge Base. In the Knowledge Base you can find the FAQ, all the guidelines, and plenty of other userful information. The rules are conventitly split up into different categories on the Guideline's page. General Site Guidelines is the fifth link from the top.

General Use Rules

  1. One account per person.
    • If a user is banned, deactives his/her account, or forgets his/her password they are not allowed to create another account. Users are not permitted to create different accounts to post different types of writing. However, if you are experiencing any problems with your account, or you feel that you need to make a new account due to an issue with another user, please contact one of the site administrators to see what you can or should do.
  2. Bashing, harrassing, or in any way abusing another user is not allowed.
    • This includes, but is not limited to: leaving insulting comments on stories, articles, blogs, poems, or posts, as well as posting insulting images. We would like to Mibba feeling like a community, so this rule extends off site, as well. Posting rude messages about a Mibba user or their writing on a different website will result in a banning here on Mibba.
  3. Promoting/Posting illegal or pornographic content on any part of the Mibba website is prohibited.
    • For instance, I want to blog about this great new album that I pirated. I would not be able to post of where I got the album from, because that would be promoting the illegal act of pirating.
  4. Mibba users may only use Mibba to post their own work.
    • Plagiarizing and stealing the writing of others is nottolerated on Mibba. If it isn't yours, please don't post it.
  5. Users must be present in the photos that the user uploads ot the individual photo gallery.
    • If you aren't in the photo you cannot upload it to the photo gallery. For example, you have a beautiful picture of your dog sitting up on his hind legs, you would not be able to post it because you are not in it. Other images that aren't allowed in the individual photo gallery are art, celebrities, or photography. Keep in mind this rule only applies to the individual photo gallery and not the rest of the website. Although, any and all images uploaded to the site must be approrpriate and inoffensive. (No pornographic or hateful images.)
  6. Usernames cannot contain offensive words.
    • Words that are considered offensive by the Mibba staff are: b*tch, f*ck, *ss, d*ck, c*nt, p*ssy, sh*t, and c*ck.

What do I do if I spot someone breaking a rule, do I send them a message and let them know?

Absolutely not. Please do not approach someone that's breaking a rule, instead contact one of the site administrators or appropriate staff. Let them know who is doing what, and link them to where the rule breaking is going on. If you can it would be best to screenshot the occurence, if you can't then linking will be just fine.

Where can I find who to contact if I need to report someone, or if I have a question?

At the top of the page click on Members, it's on the darker blue navigation bar. The first tab on the left is general members, but right next to it you can find tabs for the Mibba staff. (Administrators, Board Moderators, Story Editors, Magazine Staff, Poem Editors, Article Editors, Blog Moderators.)

How can I tell if I'm being "bashed" or what that word mean?

Bashing by definition is severe criticism. Now, this doesn't mean if a user points out a few errors in your story and it hurt your feelings. It means that another user is verbally attacking you, insulting you, or being condescending in their comments. A user may never put someone else down for their tastes, their opinions,or their writing. This also extends to bashing music, films, books, celebrities, and other people in general.

Someone posted a blog about me/talked about me in the forums, what do I do?

This is considered public ridicule and it is not tollerated on Mibba. Contact a site administrator or appropriate staff and let them know. They will takecare of the situation. Publicly ridiculing any person on Mibba can result in a ban.
