Mibba Blogging Rules

Before I begin I would like to list who to contact if you have any questions about the blogs. You can either message an administrator or a blog moderator. An administrator monitors the whole site, whereas blog moderators pay attention to the rules and content of every blog.

Blog Guidelines

Rule One: Bashing and Public Ridicule is prohibited on the site.

On Mibba we take bashing and public ridicule very seriously. However, sometimes it may be difficult to spot specific instances of the two. So, I'll explain what it is.

Bashing by definition is severe criticism. A user cannot insult a person, their ideas/opinions, their tastes in music, films, or books. A user cannot insult a celebrity or any non-mibbian for the same thing. It is also against the rules to insult, books, films, movies all together. This doesn't mean that a user can't talk about things they don't like, just that you can't bash the topic at hand.

Also, posting any kind of threat (even if to you it's mindless) is against the rules. We understand that you may be angry, but it isn't acceptable to talk about how you want to physically or mentally harm someone else.

Public ridicule is similar to bashing, except it's mainly for people on Mibba. For instance, say you and another user got into a disagreement. Instead of settling it, you went to the forums, someone elses page, or you blogged about the user. You named them/hinted at who it was and insulted them. That isn't allowed on Mibba, ever. If you have a problem with a user and you two can't work it out or agree to disagree thenseek out help from an admin or other appropriate staff.

Rule Two: Blogs must contain 100 words of original content.

Spam isn't allowed on Mibba, and will not count towards word count.
What is considered spam? Well, chain letters, slogans, copy and pasted lyrics, quotes that you didn't come up with, copy and pasted IM/Chat conversations, other people's jokes, repeated lines, and gibberish. (faeera lalala dada ch ch ch)

Repeating blogs can also count as spam. For example, you are promoting a certain user and his/her stories. You post the same exact blog monthly/weekly/daily, you don't change it up, it's word for word, that is considered spam. Reason why is because it was written before the blog you are about the post, so it is copy and pasted material.

Advertising is also considered spam. We don't mean advertising your stories, we mean posting links or advertising products that you directly profit from isn't allowed.

Rule 3: It must be a blog.

Mibba is a creative writing website and it has places for poems, stories, and articles. So, please post your work in the correct area.

Rule 4: Swearing in title is against the rules.

Words that are not allowed can be found in the Knowledge Base. If you aren't certain of a word (if it isn't listed) then you can ask an admin or blog moderator. The reason swearing isn't allowed is because Mibba has users that are young teenagers. In the stories/poems you can set a rating, but you can't for a blog. So, we would like to keep the blog section free, when they click on a blog, however, that becomes up to the user if they decide to continue to read.

Comment Rules

  1. Don't insult or in any way abuse another member in the blog comments. Please, be polite and don't insult their opinions or behave condescendingly towards another user. (Using words such as honey, darling, sweetheart can be viewed as condescending behavior if in an argument.)
  2. Keep blog conversations in the blog. If the author of the blog asks you to stop commenting respect their wishes and do not carry the converation onto their profile or messages.

Where do I find the rules if I can't remember all of these?

Scroll down to the bottom of the page, at the very bottom there should be a dark blue navigation bar, the second to last link should say Knowledge Base. Clicking on that link will direct you another page. On this page will be more links, this is where all the information for Mibba is split up. To get to the rules click on Guidelines. All the rules are split up conviently in case you are only looking for a specific set of rules.

If I spot someone breaking the rules can I just PM or let them know?

No. Please don't approach a user that is breaking the rules. Doing so may cause conflict and we would like to avoid that. However, if you see something please don't be afraid to message an admin or other appropriate staff, which for blogs is Blog Moderators.

Where can I find the staff members of Mibba?

At the top of Mibba there is a smaller darker blue navigation bar. (It's located right below My Mibba) Select the tab that says Members. There are a few different tabs here. (Administrators, Board Moderators, Story Editors, Magazine Staff, Poem Editors, Article Editors, and Blog Moderators.) Depending on who you're looking for you can appropriate member by clicking on the corresponding button.

Don't forget, if you have any questions you can ask and we will be more than happy to answer them.
