Sunday Morning Topic: Do You Like Where You Live?

Hey there, Mibbians and passersby! I’m here again as LDW Choice with the weekly Sunday Morning Topic! I welcome you all to stop and discuss. If you have any suggestions for an upcoming week’s topic, please- feel free to recommend or suggest it. All suggestions will be considered.

This week, I would like to pose the question: Do you like where you live?I recently stumbled across this thread and discovered that for the most part, people like where they live. Personally, I like where I live, but I still cannot wait to leave when I get the money to afford it. I live in a very small town in Midwest America. When I say small, picture knowing everyone you see; that is just how small my town is. You know everyone’s name, their grandparents, and their pets. My high school did not even have 600 students total in any year I went there. If you ever did anything wrong, your parents were the second ones to know. It gets really old, but you deal with it eventually. Surprisingly, not as many people leave here as you would think. Some things I do like include knowing those people on the Rescue Squad and the firefighters. They all make sure that you are doing okay and know exactly what you’ve been through. I feel safe, knowing my rescuers. But the town has its moments like previously mentioned and I would rather move on to start my own life separate from my hometown.

While searching the forum for “do you like where you live?”, I found that almost every person commented on the weather of their place of residence. Mostly it was about it always being hot and humid. Being from the Midwest, I can only imagine true humidity overseas in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands. From what I’m hearing, I think I’ll leave it to my imagination. Another frequent topic of conversation was the fact of having things to do near home. Most people in this forum said there weren’t that many things for them to do in their home town/city, or if there was, they had already done everything. I definitely know how that is seeing as my town only has a Mexican restaurant and store, pizza parlor, and a few taverns. A last explosive topic in the forum was how bands either go to their town/city or they do not. Most that aren’t in the US and aren’t in big cities, don’t get the big bands that are not native. Others that are in big cities say they never get the good bands, but as far as those of us who don’t get bands to begin with, we say they are plenty good.
