In each issue of the Mibba Magazine, the magazine's staff gets the opportunity to let you, the readers, know what we've been reading. Usually, we stick to stories and poems, but for this issue, we thought we'd try something a little different. In the highly neglected and sparsely updated article section of Mibba, many great writers are overlooked and go unrecognized for their hardwork in journalism. Below are three fantastic articles written by Mibbians, each pertaining to a topic that affects a wide range of members.

Buy A... Fake A... Shop Around For A Learning Disorder

As the new school year unfolds, many Mibbians are working towards high school graduation and, ultimately, college. With prep schools and tutors, advanced placement courses and loading up on extra curriculars, many students feel prepared and ready for the college application process; confident that all of their honest hardwork and focus will pay off and put them ahead of the millions of other applicants. But what if that isn't enough? With the recent influx of students 'cheating' their way into colleges, pushing their way in and taking the place of deserving students, it's very possible that it won't be.

In flyer.'s article, she explores the topic of Disorder Shopping, a growing trend among high school students in which they fake learning and mental disorders in hopes of gaining special privileges when attempting to be admitted into colleges. In this article you can learn about how these students may be cheating you out of the best education you can afford and how they're dishonesty may affect you and others. Well-written and informative, this article is definitely something all Mibbians should read.

Writing Guide I: Characters

As writers, we're always striving to take fictional places, people and situations, and make them into something real. We want our readers to fall into the story and connect with it, to become attached to our writing and feel like a part of it. Important factors in creating this kind of dynamic story are creating powerful three-dimensional characters. In forever young; article, she takes the time to give us some great tips on how we can achieve just that.

With great examples of things to avoid, like cliché characters most commonly found in stories, and tips on how to steer clear of them, this well thought-out article is great for anyone looking to make their characters come to life, and their stories to stand out from the rest.

The Fall of Quizilla

Since Mibba's creation, many amateur writers have gravitated towards it because of its layout and effective structure. Being one of the few free amateur writing sites with active staff monitoring the site, sensible rules which are always upheld, and a wide variety of stories, it's somewhat served as a haven for writers looking to escape the crazy and disorganized sites they were used to. While 'writing refugees' come from all over the net and from many different sites, there's one population that seems to turn to Mibba the most: Quizillians.

In the past, the people of Quizilla have left the site for many different reasons, including lack of staff support, lack of 'good stories', and lack of proper spelling/grammar, but never before have we ever seen so many members actually fleeing the site. In Spookshow Whiplash's article, she explains all about Quizilla's latest muck-up and the effects it has had on its members and other writing sites. She goes on to list and suggest other great websites which may serve as a temporary (if not permanent) replacement for the once beloved Quizilla.

Anyone who has suffered through many of Quizilla's poorly executed and unwelcomed changes should take a gander at this article. Also, those looking to reconnect with old (and new) Quizillians would certainly find some useful information on where they can do so.
