Featured Suggestion: HTML Editor

For some users, BBcode is quite the headache. Remembering all the codes and avoiding typos within the code brackets can be challenging, especially when you have a 20,000 word story to format!

AutisticAlice proposed a solution to make posting things on Mibba easier: an HTML text editor (or “rich text” editor) for stories, poems and blogs. Posting in this way would be exactly like posting an article on Mibba, with a toolbar to help you format text by highlighting and clicking rather than entering BBcode. For those Mibbians who are HTML-savvy, there is a source option that allows you to manually enter coding, but this wouldn’t be required.

Many users find BBcode limiting, where as an HTML editor gives you more creative freedom. Longtime Mibba user FairyFeller also believes an HTML editor would be convenient. She says, “It would certainly save a lot of time. It'd also make it easier to cross-post stuff to other sites, since we won't have to go back and remove all the code.” In addition to compatibility with blogging sites like Tumblr and writing sites that do not use BBcode, users could directly copy formatting from a word processor and paste the story/blog/poem on to Mibba, without having to go back and reformat everything.
