Introduction to the Forums: Religion

Religion is not just something that influences people's lives, but it is also something that can be highly controversial when it comes to society. The concept of religion is generally the belief in a god or a higher being, with some religions being polytheistic instead of the widely known monotheistic religions. There are a whole range of religions in the world, ranging from Judaism and Buddhism to the more "newer" religions such as Scientology and Wicca. People can also identify themselves as agnostics, where they don't believe in God but believe that there could be something of higher power out there, and atheists, who believe that there is no higher being out there.

Here on Mibba, we have an entire forum dedicated to discussions about religion and faith among Mibbians. With this article, I'm going to be highlighting a few threads within the Religion Forum that are constantly open for discussion.

Religion and Homosexuality is one of the threads that exist within this forum. It's for users to discuss their religion and what views their religion has when it comes to homosexuality and any other sexual orientation that isn't heterosexuality. So whether your religion affects how you view those who aren't heterosexual or not, this thread is for all that discussion and more! Gay marriage can be touched upon as can the big question of whether your god loves gay people or whether it's a flaw they created for humans to perfect? As a touchy subject, remember that your comments don't need to be censored but they should remain respectful.

Another topic found in this forum is the Is Faith in Teenagers Deflating? thread which broaches the subject of whether faith is declining in the younger generation. The original post defines the faith as being a faith in God and religion, even though many people can have faith resting in something other than God. Have something to say about the title or the original post? Feel free to post away in the thread and strike up a conversation with the others who want to talk about it, too!

Harry Potter and Religion is a strange thread to exist but there are those who believe that the Harry Potter series encourages people to draw away from Christianity and towards the occult and witchcraft. Think it's absurd? Agree with it? Think that those who believe it don't know what real witchcraft is about? Don't keep your opinions to yourself – this thread is open to all to give their opinions, all it needs is a kiss of life to be revived from its eight month long slumber.
