Introducing Mibba Staff: Kentin

Emmalee is a girl most commonly found obsessing over a guy named Kentin while easily managing to juggle not only her story editor duties but also the duties she offered to pick up when she volunteered to be a poem editor for the site as well. Not only is she a lovely member of this community, but she's also a joy to talk with and is always open to new people who need a friendly face to talk to.

1. When did you become a member of Mibba's staff?

It was January 18, 2012... or the 28th... between those two dates, maybe? ::shifty I (somewhat) remember the date because it was a big deal for me. If I remember correctly, I jumped out of bed and just did an insane "dance" that was more like me flailing about like a crazy person than anything. I was PUMPED at the idea of getting to be able to help out users.

2. What made you apply for the position you have?

I was pretty much posting only stories on here, with the occasional poem, but I was basically taking up residence in the story section. I also applied for a position as a poem editor, but since I wasn't posting loads of them like I was stories, I was given the story editor position, which I'm actually kind of thankful for now that I look back on it. I was much more comfortable as a story editor since I was familiar with it all. When I applied, I thought, "There's no way I'd be picked out of everyone who's applying. Why not?" Then BAM!! Kurtni messaged me showing interest and I was super glad that I did.

3. If you could have any other position of staff, what would it be and why?

It would be the poem editor position, but I was recently given that position a few weeks ago so... my wish came true! Besides a poem editor, I'd have to say an article editor because I'd probably be able to read a lot of neat things that users submit. It could be a learning experience!

4. What is your favourite part about Mibba?

Naturally, I love the story section! It's interesting to see who people are writing about and what they're writing of. It's given me a lot of good reading material, and though I usually stick to fan fiction, I wouldn't be surprised if we have a future J.K. Rowling in our midst with the amazing original fictions here. The blog section is a close second because I, along with the rest of the staff, love to creep so I get it out of my system that way!

5. When did you join Mibba and why?

I joined sometime in June of 2010. I don't remember the exact date though. I checked it a while back, but I forgot! I would check it right now, but in true ME fashion, I forgot how to! As for why, well, I was just another one of the Quizillians looking for refuge. Thankfully, another author on the site came here so I just came on over too.

6. Describe what the word "Mibba" makes you feel.

It makes me feel at peace, like a second home. It's the place where I can come to and just be me, where I can unleash my imagination, vent my problems, and just get away from reality. It's one of those things that you just don't want to live without. Everyone here is more than just a friend to me, they're like my family (no matter how cheesy that sounds).

7. Biggest inspiration?

Pretty much anything and everything, honestly. I feel like there's inspiration within everything, you just have to figure out what it is. Even if I just hear someone say something I thought was cool, I start imagining all the possibilities. If I really had to pick one, it'd be music since I can't live without it and the messages it can send. Music's a big muse for me.

8. What's the best thing about working with all the other story editors?

I feel like we're all pretty close with one another, even if I do say so myself. It makes everything so fun to do. I love talking with them and think we're all excitable, especially so when it comes to Mibbacon. Remember, while at Mibbacon 2020, make sure to praise Sunny, the Queen Story Editor, along with her Chancellor and princesses!

9. If you could choose any piece of writing of yours - be it onsite or not - which are you most proud of?

Aye, this is hard... I don't really have one that I'm particularly proud of. However, I think I'd have to go with my Harry Potter fan fiction, Unlovable. Even though it's only got one chapter to its name and it's going to be a year since its creation in December, I loved where I was going to take it with the plot. I'd love to get back into it when I finish up a few of my current stories.

10. Favourite novel?

I loved the Harry Potter series by Rowling and I'm also a fan of the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr as well. Both of these women are incredible authors and I can only hope that I can be half as good as them someday.

11. Tell us one thing you don't normally talk about.

I'm not sure. Maybe body image? Haha, I'm extremely self-conscious because I'm pretty heavy set and so I don't like talking about my weight all that much. I don't mind, but I'd rather not, you know?

12. If you could say something to every member of the site, what would it be?

I'm sorry that my answers are their own novels. I write too much. ::facepalm And I love you, so let's talk. I don't bite. -wink- -wink- ::naughty

13. Last question - if all staffers were put into Sweet Amoris High School, what would happen? Be honest.

You just had to ask, didn't you? DIDN'T YOU? I'll make it as simple as possible, though... UTTER CHAOS. I feel like we'd all be entranced by the guys and annoyed by the girls, at the fact that we have to wait a day to go into five different rooms, and also at the fact that whenever we want to find people they just mysteriously vanish. What's up with that? At the end of the day, I think we'd all be out for blood because we were so infatuated with the guys, but we'd also share our illustrations and gush over them. I would guard Kentin with all my might because he's mine and mine alone. I have a monopoly over him and that's final. And yes, I know I have a problem. ::file
