Mibbian of the Week: The God of Thunder

The God of Thunder is a Mibbian who loves writing and is currently working as a librarian. In this edition of Mibbian of the Week, we learn all about this awesome user!

When did you join Mibba and how did you find the site?

I joined first in 2007 after INO (an old My Chemical Romance fanfiction site) basically migrated over to Mibba. I was following my favorite authors and started making close friendships with other users. With a different set of friends and a series of breaks, I've been around for six years or so.

What area of Mibba are you most active on?

Today, I mainly use Mibba as a storage system for my stories. The way you can personalize your stories with layouts is unique and wonderful, so whenever I post something it makes the work feel complete. I also use Confessions as a diary of sorts.

What is your favorite thing about writing?

I love playing with language and concepts. I usually try to capture one or two themes that get reiterated through the events, characters, and symbols, while carefully using syntax that is consistent with that idea. I think it's really cool how you can make endless connections just by playing with words.

What is your least favorite?

I don't like editing, even though it's necessary. Whenever I read over something I've just written, I tend to dislike it. I only glorify work once it's older and I haven't looked at it in a long time. That makes the editing process brutal sometimes.

If you had to describe Mibba to someone who had never used the site, what would you say?

Mibba is a safe little place where you can experiment with writing, find others who share your interests that you might not be exposed to on a normal basis, and safely express yourself in a variety of different platforms.

If you could live as any celebrity for a day, who would it be and why?

Oh God, I don't know. I can't imagine myself as being anybody else. This is a bad answer, but honestly, if I were in the public eye, the world would shudder.

Is there anything you'd like to say to all the Mibbians out there?

There's been some Mibba conflict lately, but don't let it hinder your creative processes. Keep allowing your viewpoints to grow, support the things you passionately believe in, give everybody a respectful amount of decency, and don't be afraid to express yourself. There is too great a risk not to, and because life in itself is so small, you owe it to yourself to produce as much as there is within you!

Special thanks to house of cards. and Katie Mosing for editing!
