Mibbian of the Week: Filth in the Beauty

Filth in the Beauty is a Mibbian who loves writing, sewing, cooking, baking and learning languages. In this edition of Mibbian of the Week, we learn all about this awesome user!

When did you join Mibba and how did you find the site?

I joined Mibba sometime in 2009, but I wasn't active at all at first. I had just started reading stories in the internet and I found some that seemed promising posted here, so I made myself an account. I usually came here just to read, only much later I felt confident enough with my English and started commenting on stories or blogs (at that time they were still journals), posting on the forums and sharing my own stories.

What area of Mibba are you most active on?

As of now, definitely the forums. I really love debating and also posting on game threads, where I can pass my time when I have some in spare to burn. I also go to the blogs section every once in a while, read, comment when I have something to say and sometimes even post my own blogs, but this is not that often. I think I should be trying to be more active on the stories section and read as much as I used to, so I'll be working on it.

What's your favorite thing about the forums?

I think a lot of people will disagree with me, but I really like the no-bashing rule. Some may think it restricts their freedom to express themselves as they want but as I see it, we all need to learn to voice our opinions in a non-offensive way, there is absolutely no need to personally attack other users to get our point across, even when the subject is sensitive or affect us personally. I don't think all users fully realize how this rule has been making the forums -and also other sections like the blogs- a more enjoyable place for everyone. Summing all up, it's great to know I can post my opinions on the forums and not be shot down on the spot like it already happened in other forums I've been to, and how nice and polite people on this site are.

If you could change one thing about Mibba, what would it be?

Little bugs and technical issues are a bit annoying so I'd fix these little problems. I didn't report anything in years, but I'd like to see the report system back in place instead of the users needing to send reports manually, it's not really vital, but I guess it would help. And I would definitely add a preview option for blogs and stories.

If you had to describe Mibba to someone who had never used the site, what would you say?

It's an awesome place with a community feel, if you are committed to getting our writing out there and getting feedback on your work this is the right place. You can customize your layouts, which is an awesome feature that I've only found on Mibba. You will also find a lot of talented writers here who surpass by far some very famous published authors, so if you're having trouble coming up with good ideas to write or how to tackle a story you can draw some inspiration and learn from this awesome people. If you don't feel like doing some serious writing you can always go to the forums or blogs and interact with other users. Mibba it's the best creative writing site out there, I know, I've searched.

If you could live as any celebrity for a day, who would it be and why?

At first I thought about being one of these J-Rockers I love so much, but thinking better about it, those guys work a lot, long hours every day, and then I wouldn't have time to appreciate my single day as a celebrity. So I think I would be someone like Kim Kardashian who basically does nothing all day, just go shopping or to a beauty salon, shoot a few scenes for their reality show and that's it. This way I'd have more time to enjoy my day.

Is there anything you'd like to say to all the Mibbians out there?

My first focus on this site was never really socializing or connecting to other people, I've always been more focused on reading and writing, but even though I met a lot of awesome people here and I guess it's impossible not to get involved, so I'd like to thank everyone for their kind support and feedback on my work, it's so much more than I ever expected. Also, as English is not my native language I never felt super confident about my stories here, but people has always been so helpful and polite when pointing out my mistakes, so thanks again. Mibba has been a great experience for me so far, and helped me improve in a lot of ways, I'm really glad I've found this place.

Special thanks to house of cards. and Katie Mosing for editing!
