Mibba's Thoughts: Author's Notes

The author's note of a story or poem is a great place for the author to discuss different things about their work, and everyone has a different idea of what should go in an author's note. In this week's edition of Mibba's Thoughts, Mibbians discuss author's notes.

I apologise for not updating, mention something quirky I did while writing or some thought I had, thanking people who commented/subs and say something about having more comments.

I sometimes put a link to a song that inspired the story/chapter, but mainly I just out something like 'con/crit is appreciated’.

I usually put thanks for the comments/next one will be better/sorry for the lack of updates!/credit for banners, if acceptable/links to songs that could be listened to while reading.

I should start putting feedback will be lovely.

I generally just say whether or not I'm confident about the story (I have confidence issues), ask for what the readers think, etc. Since I use different languages (German, French, and Swedish) in stories, I also use the AN area for translations.

I have never made a habit of writing author's notes. I didn't do it on DA, and I don't intend to start here. The only exception is on one or two pieces; there is a line or two included from some well-known poems, and I feel it's important that I credit the authors. Otherwise? No note for me.
