Introducing Mibba Staff: Join the Masquerade

Rachael, up until recently, was the only active blog moderator for the site. Perhaps best known for her Placebo love, she spends a lot of her time roaming the blog section to ensure that peace is kept and rules are upheld. No blog goes unread (which was a tough job for one person), but she manages to keep on track. This article allows users to get to know their friendly blog moderator a bit more!

1. When did you become a member of Mibba's staff?

I became a member of the staff about 4 months ago.

2. What made you apply for the position you have?

I... didn't really apply so much as get asked to join, out of the blue, during one of Mibba's little outbursts of dislike for the rules and such.

3. If you could have any other position of staff, what would it be and why?

I'd probably choose to be a story editor, because it would encourage me to broaden my reading a bit more on here.

4. What is the thing you most dislike about Mibba?

I dislike the lack of diversity amongst the stories on here. There are a lot of stories on here and a lot of brilliant ones at that, but hardly any for the things I like to read about specifically. I think this comes from people (myself included) not bothering to post stories here for smaller fan bases because they'll only get a few reads and no comments. I feel like if people just posted anything and everything on here then it could open up all these new fan bases on Mibba as more people get involved in things they weren't aware other people were into, and get more people to join in and such. But it's hard to find the effort to post something that at first, isn't going to be noticed.

5. When did you join Mibba and why?

I joined Mibba... gosh... back in 2007? 2008? It was a while ago. I was a part of the migration of people from GSB.net and INO.net and joined here to comment on a Billie Joe fanfic called A Student/Teacher Relationship. Eventually, I started sharing my own stories here.

6. Name one thing you would change about Mibba if you had the power.

I would change the orange colour of the "My Mibba" icon to purple. I just... really dislike the orange and blue colour scheme.

7. What does Mibba mean to you?

Mibba is a place I would always come to, particularly when I was younger, to express myself without having to consider correcting myself to meet the expectations of anyone else. I think as long as you come in with a friendly, considerate attitude, then Mibba is a wonderful, safe place to hang out and learn about different people.

8. What section of the site are you most active in?

I'm most active in the blogs section. I enjoy reading about other people's lives and giving my opinion and advice when I feel it is appropriate.

9. If you could choose any piece of writing of yours - be it onsite or not - which are you most proud of?

This is a hard question as I tend to forget about a lot of my stories after I post them. The only one that I recently wrote and liked was a Placebo fan fiction called Lazy Bones. It's a one shot written for a monthly challenge on the Placebo Forum where this month's challenge was to write about the last gig.

10. Tell us one thing you don't normally talk about.

I don't normally talk about fashion or the gym and it scares me when things like that are brought up in conversation because I have absolutely nothing to offer.

11. If you could say something to every member of the site, what would it be?

Keep trying. Even when no one reads, no one comments, no one seems to care... it's about so much more than that.

12. Last question - if Mibba was a country, who out of the staff would be the one you'd be most likely to vote as its leader?

I wanna say Rianne but she's gone. So instead, I'll say Alice (Elephant PJs) because she's rad as hell.

Special thanks to nearly witches. and elixir for editing.
