Featured: Crossovers

By definition, a crossover is a fan fiction that brings parts of two different fandoms together into one work. With crossovers, there are endless possibilities as to what a fan fiction writer can do, and some of the results are amazing.

What Can Crossovers Do?

A crossover can bring characters from one fandom and place them in another. Members of 5 Seconds of Summer can find themselves participating in the Hunger Games. Characters from Supernatural can attend Hogwarts. There are no rules with crossovers, so any character can be placed in any universe.

Bringing together characters of different fandoms is another possibility with crossovers. Harry Styles from One Direction can fall in love with Bella Swan from Twilight, or Ron Weasley and Sam Winchester can become friends. A crossover can do just about anything!

Why Should I Dabble in Crossovers?

If you're a writer, you may find that writing a fan fiction crossover will allow you to explore new things. If you've ever wondered what two characters from different universes would be like together, you can find that out while exploring your writing and yourself. Along with that, if there is more than one thing you enjoy, you can add those things together with no rules at all.

If you're a reader, you have all the same perks as a writer, but from the reader's perspective. A crossover will allow you to read about all the characters you love in one story. If you find that you're getting bored in one fandom, you may realize that adding another fandom into the mix may reignite your love.

Crossovers are an incredible tool for both writers and readers. Though not as many people dabble in crossovers, there are so many opportunities with crossovers that checking them out could be worth your while.
