DIY: Lavender Bath Salts
Baths are extremely relaxing and adding salts to them can completely upgrade your experience. This is a great recipe if you'd like to make different types of bath salts without spending too much money, or creating a thoughtful gift for a friend. Whatever the motive, rest assured that this is something inexpensive, easy to make, and even better to enjoy!
Ingredients
- Epsom salts (available at drug stores)
- Food colouring (red and blue)
- Sea salt
- Essential oils
Materials
- Measuring cups
- Bowls
- Spoon
- Mason jar
Instructions
- Mix two cups of Epsom salts and sea salt. Alternatively, you can mix equal measures of both salts if you intend on making a larger quantity of bath salts.
- Mix the red and blue food colouring so purple can be formed. Add one drop at a time (two should suffice for if you add too much, it will stain your bathtub). Stir well after each drop to see if the salts are lilac coloured.
- Pour in your essential oils. Keep in mind that the more you add, the stronger the fragrance will be. Stir it well until the consistency becomes that of damp sand.
- Place the mixture into the mason jar and enjoy your bath salts!
