Mibbian of the Week: cis.

Ella (known on Mibba as cis.) is a long time Mibbian known for her gorgeous layouts and aesthetics. In this week’s edition of Mibbian of the Week, we get to learn a bit more about her!

How long have you been on Mibba?

This year will be my sixth year! I believe as of either March or May I will have been a Mibbian for six years... It doesn't even feel like that long ago.

How often do you log on? How long would you say you spend on the site when you do log on?

I log on every day, though I spend around an hour or so actually doing things. Normally it sits open in a tab so I can flick back and forth between other things I'm doing, so I generally am around just not actively doing things.

Which part of the site are you most active in?

At the moment, I'd definitely say blogging. I tend to write more blogs now and I comment on others. I think I just love to interact with other Mibbians and blogging is the way to do it.

Six years is quite a while! How has your Mibba experience changed from when you first made your account to now?

Oh God, where to begin... My writing has improved drastically. I started off with stereotypical stories with terrible grammar and spelling, and I have improved so much from there thanks to Mibba. Feedback and seeing other's stories have helped me improve my own writing in a way I never thought I could. I also have closer Mibba friends now, it seems I'm better at participating in the community!

How often do you read stories and poems? How often do you comment or recommend the things you read?

I tend to read stories pretty frequently, though I rarely read poems unless someone else recommends them, since I don't actively search them out. I don't comment often but as a resolution I've decided I need to comment more! However, I recommend everything I enjoy.

What draws you to the things you read?

I guess a collection of things - the layout, the characters, the summary. The summary page will always be the thing that draws me in to read, because if you've got a good summary page then I'll want to read more. As long as you have a collection of good things, I'll be drawn in.

Tell us about a few of your favourite stories / works by other Mibbians.

Bambi by kaz brekker, also known as pallid. I never stop talking about this story. It is gritty, raw and emotional and I could recommend it to everyone on this Earth.

We Were Birds by towers is one of my favourite stories on this site. It was so beautifully written and crafted, I completely lost myself in this world and the characters. I may have cried.

Winter Wakes by LettersToNormandy. Honestly, this story is so funny, I enjoyed every single moment of reading it. I was so happy I stumbled across it.

The Davis Effect by decay. This story was so good! I rarely see mysteries that drag me in on this site, but this one really did. I was caught off guard and I was rooting for the characters the whole time because I fell in love with them.

Are you working on anything on Mibba right now?

An Astronomer's Unexplainable Love for the Universe - This is about three people who meet (an astronomer, a botanist and a cyborg) and try to find the origins of the cyborg. I think it'll be heartfelt, and I've always wanted to tackle more sci-fi.

Masterpiece - This is going to be a short story about the interactions between 'art girl' and 'angel boy' through the use of IMs and also occasional glimpses into 'art girl's life. I've already written the ending, so that was fun.

You have your own Graphics Shop here on Mibba, what got you interested in the graphics side of things?

I think my interest in graphics stemmed from a few different places. I was interested in making banners because of Mibba, since having a unique banner on a story used to be a massive hype and I wanted to give it a shot. As for things like aesthetics, it stemmed from tumblr and a close internet friend. I'm usually influenced by other people when getting interested in these things, because seeing these awesome graphics made me think: I want to make awesome graphics too!

What has been your favourite Mibba experience (something that has happened to you on the site)?

Meeting all my Mibba friends. Honestly, they are such amazing people and I wish I'd been more active during my two year random hiatus so I could have met them sooner. I'm really bad at keeping in touch, but I really love talking to them so much! So, shoutout to Fae, Sam & Raveena !

Anything you want to say to your fellow Mibbians?
