Introducing Mibba Staff: lily hughes.

Many of you will know lily hughes. from at least one section of Mibba! Whether you’ve requested her talents in banner-making, read her wonderful writing, or simply chatted with her in the Forums or Blogs, you’re bound to have seen her around! As a member of the Magazine’s editorial staff, Natalia also lends a hand in ensuring that all of the articles that are brought to you each month are ship-shape and in publishable condition! In this article, we’ll get to know more about the lovely girl behind the username.

1. When did you join Mibba, and why?

Sometime mid-2012. I was really into ice hockey at the time (and still am!) so I was in search for some fan-fics and I came across one I absolutely loved. So much so, that I just had to comment so I created an account and from then onwards, I've been hooked to this world!

2. How long have you been a member of the Magazine staff?

It will be two months on January 23rd! It's crazy how I've been doing this for such a small period of time but I feel like so much has already gotten done, as if I had been doing it my entire life!

3. What made you apply for the position you have?

I've always had a good eye for spotting grammatical errors and in my circle of friends, I'm definitely considered the grammar nazi! Haha so it ended up being the only thing I could see myself doing at the time.

4. If you could have any other staff position (magazine or site staff), what would you choose and why?

Most likely an Article Editor because the amount of times I've asked Kayleigh to delete things in threads is too damn high! Not only that, but the editing side of things would still be predominant in the position.

5. What’s your favourite thing about the Mibba Magazine?

This is such a tough question to answer! There are so many lovely things. Thanks to the MM, I've been super active and obsessed with Mibba, so I'd say that's my favourite thing about it. It motivates me to be more participant, to give my best at all times, and to practice kindness too with everybody around here!

6. What’s your favourite section of the site and why?

The Graphics Shop section, without a doubt! I have a graphic shop and I love it to bits. I adore creating banners and making people even more excited to either continue writing their stories or begin an entirely new one!

7. If you could choose any of your pieces of writing, which would you say you are most proud of?

I haven't written many stories mainly because I suck at finishing them. Other things get in the way and they end up incomplete. So instead, I opt to create one-shots or short stories and I usually write them for contests in order to motivate me to finish them. I'd say my favourite piece of writing is A Collection of You because it is super close to me and my heart and I believe that this can be seen throughout the story. It's also very different from anything I've ever done because all of the chapters consist of handwritten (by yours truly) diary entries.

8. If you could only read one novel for the rest of your life, what novel would you choose and why?

1984 by George Orwell. Oh my goodness, what an incredible book! I've never been a fan of politics nor did I ever imagine I could love a book commenting on it, but I did. I fell in love with it at the very last page. The ending is where it either breaks or makes the book to you, and it surely made it for me!

9. If you could say one thing to everybody on Mibba, what would it be and why?

YOU'RE ALL SO LOVELY! I'd honestly shout this at the top of my lungs (or caps lock) because I roam around here daily and I read blogs, comments, stories, poems, threads, technically everything, and everybody has this amazing attitude of helping each other out, and showering others with compliments and laughter. It's all so lovely!

10. Final question — you’re given one superpower to use for your own means (good or evil). What superpower do you use, and why?

The power to control possibility. What are the chances I win the lottery? 0.0002%? Oh well you guessed it wrong, son! I'm gonna change that to 1 and make a pool out of cash! Haha you get the idea. I think it'd be pretty cool and it'd be an awesome tool to help others, too.
