Mibbian of the Week: gracious;

gracious; is most well known for her unique stories and activity in the blogs section of the site. In this week’s edition of Mibbian of the Week, she is here to tell us about herself!

How long have you been on Mibba?

I joined mibba right before I graduated from middle school and I just graduated high school this past June. So I think I'm going on five years!

How often do you log on? How long would you say you spend on the site when you do log on?

I never log out really. I'm always logged onto the site and it depends on the day how long I stay. I'm in college now so when I'm dorming I usually only really look at this site for only an hour at most, but now that I'm on break, it's constant lol.

Which part of the site are you most active in?

Definitely blogs. Since the moment I joined I was consistently in the blog section. I remember I, and a lot of users, would blog each day, multiple times a day. I think out of all the years I've been on mibba, that's a thing that just hasn't changed.

How often do you read stories and poems? How often do you comment or recommend the things you read?

Now that I'm on break, I try to read a story on here at least once a day. I suck at poems, sadly, and I don't read them as often as I should. Yet, I do try to read stories as much as possible.

What draws you to the that things you read?

Usually the summary and characters. The more diverse the cast of characters are, the more interested I am in a story. I love reading stories from different perspectives and faces, and I think having a diverse slot of characters helps a story do that.

Tell us about a few of your favourite stories/works by other Mibbians

The Sanctuary Beyond the Undergrowth by AHLICE. is my favorite story written on this site. It was, and still is, nothing like anything I've ever read before. That story really inspired me and pushed me to try and go against the grain and not be afraid to be "weird" with my writing. Right now, I'm in love with The Davis Redemption by decay and Violet Blue by cleopatra. Both amazing works I always get excited to see when they're updated.

What helps you think "outside the box" and take risks with your stories?

Reading other stories about things I never really thought about helps A LOT. Also, just having an idea that has me like "wow, that's kinda weird/off/someone hasn't really talked about it" helps. Like, I'll just write or plan it out and if it seems like really far fetch, I'll drop it, but most of the time it works out. Plus, I'm a Vice YouTube addict and they post the wildest things so that helps, too.

Are you working on anything on Mibba right now?

I am! I'm working on two things, actually. One is a repost of a story I call She and another is brand new to me called Grow Up, Georgia Blue.

You have a couple NC-17 stories, what interests you about that rating and makes you want to write stories that fall in it?

Before writing NC-17 I was writing teen fiction pretty much exclusively and one day in the summer like last year, I just had a dream about a plot for a story that was more "mature" than any other thing I've written before and I pretty much just went with it and once I started, I really couldn't stop. I was always looking for something new to write at the time because I was actually feeling a bit bored with my writing at the time, and I guess writing things that fell into the NC-17 category was my fix during that time lol.

What has been your favourite Mibba experience (something that has happened to you on the site)?

I don't think I can just pinpoint one. Lol, there's been so many. I think my favorite was when I was nominated for the Project Fiction list on an old story for the first time. It was amazing and it was really humbling because someone has to nominate you for those things and for someone to think that was writing was nice enough to be on a list that some of the best stories on this site also reside, was amazing.

Anything you want to say to your fellow Mibbians?

I want to say...just keep writing. Don't be afraid to go against the grain or take a risk. Just keep writing and become comfortable as a writer. There is no "wrong" in writing. So just do it.
