Mibbian of the Week: Qhuinn

Katlyn (known to us as Qhuinn) is another long time Mibbian who can be seen hanging around the blog and story sections of the site. In this week’s edition of Mibbian of the Week, we get to learn a bit more about her.

How long have you been on Mibba?

According to my comments, eight years. If it wasn't for comments I couldn't keep track.

How often do you log on? How long would you say you spend on the site when you do log on?

I log on every day, several times a day. Most the time Mibba always has a tab open on my computer. So I'd say I'm on several hours a day.

Which part of the site are you most active in?

Stories and Blogs. I'm trying to be more active in other areas but I'm a creature of habit.

How often do you read stories and poems? How often do you comment or recommend the things you read?

Not as much as I should for both questions. I read a few stories a month but maybe only comment on one or two. I'm trying to be better.

What draws you to the that things you read?

A good, strong summary that doesn't reveal the whole plot but gives me just enough to get me hook line and sinker. I'm also a sucker for a pretty layout, though it won't deter me too much from reading a story but it definitely is a plus.

Tell us about a few of your favourite stories/works by other Mibbians.

Okay now it’s time for me to be my ultimate fangirl self. There are so many stories I'm in love with so I'll list the top four: Euphoria by capheus, How Willow Died by the dalliance., Rosalie by Mr. Darcy, She by gracious;. Just everything about those stories speaks to me in one way or another.

Are you working on anything on Mibba right now?

I'm working like a mindless slave on When Night Falls. I'm up until two or three AM most days working on either a chapter or edits, which says a lot considering 5 out of 7 days a week I'm up at seven AM for work.

What does your writing process look like? (Do you outline your stories, do you have to have certain music playing, etc.)

My writing process is pretty scattered. Sometimes I outline, sometimes I don't. Something is always playing the in the background whether it be music, anime, or a TV show. I cannot write in complete silence. The one thing that is always consistent is that I absolutely need to be alone. Everyone is too nosy; they want to know what I'm doing and if they find out I'm writing they want to know what I'm writing. I'm a pretty secretive writer outside of the world wide web.

What has been your favourite Mibba experience (something that has happened to you on the site)?

Meeting great people. I've gotten close to a few of the members and don't know what I'd do without them.

Anything you want to say to your fellow Mibbians?

I'd like to quote Louis L'Amour: "Start writing no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on."

Finally, you're stuck on a desert island with two celebrities. Who do you hope those two celebrities are?

Only two? Jesus, that's a toughie. Probably Stephen Amell and Ruby Rose. I'd die of absolutely joy.
