Introducing Mibba Staff: She Said Poptarts

There are faces around Mibba that we all know and love, faces that we can trace back to almost the very beginnings of the site. She Said Poptarts is one of these faces, having been a welcome face around the site for almost ten years. After recently joining Mibba’s staff, Calli has been even more present around the forums, but can also be found in the graphics section, making incredible banners for Mibbians. I caught up with her to learn a little more about Mibba’s newest Board Moderator!

When did you join Mibba, and where did you hear about it?

December 30, 2007 is the exact date I joined Mibba! Which is funny because that's Ryan Sheckler's birthday and I was obsessed with him around that time (which continued on for a couple of more years, ha!) I heard about Mibba when Quizilla was changing, and I was among the huge group that joined.

When did you become a member of staff, and what influenced you to join under your current role?

I became a staff member in July! Just by lurking the forums, and seeing some threads being in the wrong place and thinking, "Man, I would move that to the right place if I had the power." Hahaha. And that's what got me interested in being a Board Mod!

What is your favourite part about Mibba?

It's familiar! And, cliche, but the community! Sure, Mibba hasn't been active as much lately (sad face) but I love that there are users that have no problem leaving constructive criticism when asked and it's just so helpful! I learned quite a bit with those.

What is your least favourite part about Mibba?

The lack of activity nowadays! ALSO THE FACT THAT DUJO TOOK AWAY THE PRIMARY CUSTOM LAYOUTS... sorry, I will forever be disappointed in that. Haha!

What section of the site do you use most often?

Forums, definitely. Even if it's just to scroll up and down, it's there.

If you could have any other position on Mibba’s staff, what one would you choose and why?

Admin. Image the power. I am also very serious about that answer. Haha.

What piece of your own writing are you most proud of, and why?

Both of my chapters for Fatal Flaw (it's a group write), mostly because my characters are acting like the real world apocalypse is a game, and they're a little kookoo when it comes to killing what used-to-be people.

What’s your biggest writing inspiration?

Oh boy. Fresh air is a big thing for me, whenever I'm outside and it's super chill, I just breathe and my mind settles. And then I start thinking about what I've heard, read, or seen that day. It comes from shows, books, family, friends etc. when something happens in any of those, or to those around me, I'll end up thinking of a different way the situation would go and I end up building the situation.

If you could only read one novel for the rest of your life, which one would you choose and why?

Moon Called by Patricia Briggs, definitely. My copy of the novel is so worn that I'm quite proud of when I look at it. Hahaha. I love werewolves, and Briggs mentions Native Americans (the main character is half) and that makes me extra happy, because I'm Native American and I don't come across many fiction that includes my people.

What does Mibba mean to you?

Mibba is a big part of my life, it's so familiar to me and I feel comfort when I think about it. Haha, I met my best friend on Quizilla, and probably wouldn't have kept in touch if we didn't move here together and now I can't imagine her not being in my life. So it means quite a lot to me, family means a lot to me and that's what Mibba is, Mibba is my home, my family. When I'm old as hell it's still going to be fresh in my mind.

If you could say one thing to Mibbians, what would it be?

COME BACK. Ha, but no, thank you for being part of Mibba with me, and that I hope everything is well enough for you and yours.

And finally — you're the captain of the Mibba sport team. What staff members would you draft into your team and why?

It depends on what sport it is!

All Admins, definitely. Because I'm Valor (PokemonGo whaddup), and I'm all about power.

Special thanks to Audrey T for editing!
