Introducing Mibba Staff: isak valtersen.

Mibba’s ranks are full of talented users, and they can be found in all areas of the site. A well-known username in the graphic-making community of Mibba is isak valtersen. As well as being talented when it comes to aesthetics and layouts, Fae is also one of the Magazine staff’s newest editing recruits, and one of the two new Story Editors. I caught up with her to find out a little more about what makes her tick!

When did you join Mibba, and where did you hear about it?

I joined in January 2010 (but I never remember the actual date) and, like 90% of the "old generation", I heard about Mibba through Quizilla. Therefore making me a part of the ~*Mibba Migration*~

When did you become a member of staff, and what influenced you to join under your current role?

July 27th of last year as a story editor and March 29th for magazine staff! I've always been active in the story section and I love all the articles on the magazine, so I really wanted to help.

What is your favourite part about Mibba?

Definitely the community, as everyone is so fantastic and so supportive. But, ya know, I also love the layouts and (creative) freedom the entire site gives.

What is your least favourite part about Mibba?

The laaag, omg. Just drives me up the wall.

What section of the site do you use most often?

Story, which is a given, but besides that, probably blogs. Forums if I'm procrastinating, but want to feel like I'm doing something fun at the same time.

If you could have any other position on Mibba’s staff, what one would you choose and why?

Probably blog or board moderator. It just seems like a super chill position.

What piece of your own writing are you most proud of, and why?

I'm going to have to say my story Like This, You Keep Them Alive — I put so much into this story and it just means so so so much to me. (And it's the only story I've finished in months now, oops.)

What’s your biggest writing inspiration?

Music, definitely.

If you could only read one novel for the rest of your life, which one would you choose and why?

Okay, look. I sat on this for a good bit, but I love both Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz and Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo equally. Both these books are just. Ace. So beautiful in so many ways. Ari and Dante just means so much as a soft and cute and meaningful book, and then Six of Crows is just so intricate and beautiful in the world building but the CHARACTERS. Oh man, I've never loved a cast of characters so much.

What does Mibba mean to you?

It's kind of like... a safe place at this point. I've met so many fantastic people here; people that have become my best friends even. I've been here for so long that I gravitate to it mindlessly anymore. I just love it here. It's helped mold me into a better writer definitely and better person, I think, because I've learned so much from other Mibbians. It just means so much and I love it here (for the 89th time oops).

If you could say one thing to Mibbians, what would it be?

Keep going. It doesn't matter what, just keep going.

And finally — you're sent to explore the deep confines of space with three other staff members of your own choosing. Who would you choose, and why?

Definitely Ella (mccree.), Victoria (exploding boy.) and Liz (losing control.) because SPACE QUEENS.

Special thanks to Audrey T and losing control. for editing!
