The Interrogation

“You’re here to question me and I’m here to answer, or least, that’s what you think. But I am not going to answer anything unless you answer my questions as well.”

Title: The Interrogation
Author: Finalhidingplace
Type: Original Fiction
Genre: Horror
Rating: PG-13

The Interrogation, written by Finalhidingplace, tells the tale of Rosalyn, a young, fifteen year old girl, with a terrible and interesting past. The story begins in a room that is both dark and cold. Rosalyn is seated in a chair, her hands and feet tied, with Peter Baker, a man much older than herself, standing before her. The two engage in a game: a question for a question and all answers must be truthful. As the story continues, both characters’ pasts begin to unfold.

Finalhidingplace uses dialogue and suspense to propel the story forward. Since the story is being told from the mouth of Rosalyn, most of the story is dialogue, but it is done so cleverly that I hardly noticed. All of the descriptions are written beautifully and paint pictures in the reader’s mind. The entire story has an air of mystery over it, and it hooks the reader in. In the beginning, Finalhidingplace introduces secrets, threats, and questions to grab the reader’s interest. As each question is answered a new one is introduced, and with each question, we learn more about Rosalyn’s past.

The story is completed at only six chapters, and is a quick, but good read. I recommend this story to anyone who is interested in horror and suspense.
