Legend has it that Hades kidnapped Persephone and forced her into the Underworld, but legend is wrong. Persephone’s Story tells of Persephone’s forbidden love for Hades, and the risks she takes to be with him. She faces her father’s disapproval and her mother’s constant scolding for being with him, but they do not see what Persephone sees, and they do not know what Persephone knows. In Persephone’s Story, Persephone learns the price of following her heart, and nothing can stop her from doing just that.

KnifeInTheCrayonBox does an excellent job of taking a new spin on an old tale. Although Persephone’s Story does not follow the myths of the Greek gods, it has an interesting and original plot, and well thought out characters. KnifeInTheCrayonBox thought this story through to the end, and added all the right literary elements to get it there.

This exceptional piece of work is a great read for anyone who enjoys forbidden romance, or readers who are looking to step outside of their comfort zone and read something out of the ordinary. I would recommend it to anyone on Mibba, even members who are not familiar with the Greek gods. Persephone’s Story is completed at five chapters and is a great addition to KnifeInTheCrayonBox’s excellent repertoire.
