Maybe Rosie was with Darin in hope of finding a little of the green-eyed boy in him. Maybe it was because there were certain aspects of him that reminded her of the green-eyed boy. Maybe it was because she did not want to be alone in the big house. Maybe it was because she was hoping she would at least get to say goodbye this time. Whatever the reason she was with him was not enough to get her to tell him to stay when he wanted to leave and not come back.
I’m generally not one to read short stories or tragedies. I don’t like short stories because they tend to never really have a complete finish, and I don’t like tragedies because I’m a happy ending type of girl, but for some reason, though, the title of this story caught my attention. When I read it I felt it was almost poetic without being poetry. The details made you imagine everything perfectly, without going into so much detail you don’t enjoy the story because the author is being too specific. The story is very well written to the point where you can almost feel the character's emotions alongside her. You feel as if you're experiencing it yourself. This was the first story I’ve read by this specific author, but I doubt it will be the last with her amazing writing abilities.
