Review

Zowie Stardust’s original story, Bliss and Bloodlust, is a vampire-human love story although it is not to be compared to anything like the Twilight series. The first chapter instantly plunges the reader into action as the female protagonist is discovered in danger while the cause of said danger is left a mystery. Although, this mystery is not hidden for too long and is revealed, in depth, to the mysterious stranger who saved her.

Bliss and Bloodlust is, in some ways, a traditional vampire-human love story in which the Vampire sets out to protect the Human from any danger what-so-ever while the Human manages to draw in any possible danger she can. However, not willing to let the story follow the traditional layout, Zowie Stardust manages to make the, usually helpless, Human into someone who, although isn’t as strong as a vampire, can stand up for herself when the time comes.

The use of the ex boyfriend as the “villain” of the story creates a gripping and fast paced storyline as the reader finds themselves waiting intently for his next move in his plan to remove Tourie from his life all together. Originally formed on a misunderstanding, it is soon made clear to the reader that Jayson isn’t mentally stable and isn’t going to drop the subject while Tourie is more than happy to move on. This addition to the storyline often leaves the readers with unexpected twists and turns, keeping their appetite for action fresh and wanting.

This story had me gripped throughout the whole duration, waiting eagerly for the next update on the story. Now completed, Bliss and Bloodlust is a promising beginning to what hints at being an exciting and enjoyable series. I have already subscribed to the sequel, Hurts Like Hell, and will continue to follow the series until it’s unfortunate end.

I give this story 4.5 stars out of 5, merely because I found the odd spelling mistake or a sentence which does not quite flow as it should do but that is all. This story is definitely worth checking out. Especially if you are a fan of books such as the Twilight Saga, The House Of Night series and My Love Lies Bleeding.
