Featured: You Suck, You Bloodsucking Fiend. Bite Me!

Turkey bowling, Nosferatu, and an army of vampire cats; all this can be found in humor-fantasy writer Christopher Moore's A Love Story. The trilogy follows the story of newly turned vampire Jody, her aspiring-writer boyfriend Tommy, and the deeply disturbed vampires that just won't stop coming after them.

In the first novel, Bloodsucking Fiends, we meet Jody Stroud: a vampire who was abandoned by the San Fransisco-dwelling vampire who turned her on a whim. Quickly adapting to her new situation, she realizes she'll need a "Daytime Guy" to help keep her life (and her blood supply) flowing during the sunlit hours. Enter C. Thomas Flood, a small town kid with big city dreams.

With the help of nineteen year old Tommy (writer, Safeway night crew member, and soon-to-be vampire hunter) and her new-found strength, Jody adapts quite well to her (after)life, taking pleasure in her new bad-ass image and seemingly limitless powers. But when mysterious deaths around the city threatens her new existence, it'll be up to Jody, Tommy, and the Animals to put this mystery to bed and stop the murderous vampires from destroying their home.

In the second installment of this vampire love story,You Suck, Jody and Tommy are back. After Jody changes Tommy, they find themselves in need of a new daytime minion. Abby Normal - former bubblegum-pink teenie bopper turned goth, who's fallen for Tommy's new vampire charm - immediately volunteers for the job. But working for Tommy and Jody turns out to encompass much more than 'normal' daywalker chores - like paying bills and ordering new furniture. Abby soon finds herself mixed up in a dangerous, ongoing vampire war between Jody, Tommy, and a dusty old vampire. And on top of it all, she still has to be home by curfew.

In the final part of this trilogy, Bite Me, we follow Nosferatu-wannabe and former vampire minion, Abby Normal, as she attempts to protect the city - and her friends - from a fresh wave of highly unusual vampires. With Tommy and Jody ensconced in a bronze tomb, the Animals working back at the Safeway, and a giant vampire cat on the loose, it's up to Abby and her genius love-monkey, Steve, to save San Francisco from the ever-looming threat of bloodsuckers.

Christopher Moore's vampire trilogy is hilarious, creepy, original, and just a little gross. With a cast of colorful characters - from writer Tommy and cheddar princess turned vampire Jody, to the little gothling Abby - following them as they roam the city of San Francisco, fighting the strangest of vampires and getting into all kinds of trouble, is a journey any reader will enjoy.
