Featured Story of the Week: Forever Cursed

Forever Cursed is an excellent One Direction fanfiction by Clara.. that is rated R. In this story, music journalist Anna Molly gets an excellent opportunity to tour with the popular boy band. When a few of the boys' crazed fans are murdered, they act as if nothing happened. Anna Molly soon learns that the talented young boys have a dark secret. Forever Cursed's interesting plot and supernatural elements make it this week's featured story. When I asked Clara. questions about her unique fanfiction, she was more than happy to answer them!

How did you choose the title 'Forever Cursed'?

Choosing the title was honestly just simply because of the story theme and plot.

What inspired you to write this story?

Growing up, I watched a lot of 80's horror films as a kid but the one that always sticks with me was The Lost Boys because the whole different outlook on vampires. Supernatural was also a huge help; watching all the seasons helped with information and things I could add a twist to on demons. My friend Nikki was a huge inspiration too, she helped clear up the messy plot I had first started out with.

How long have you been working on it?

I’ve only been working on Forever Cursed since the beginning of October, not that long but it feels like I’ve been working on it longer.

On average, how much time do you spend writing it each week?

Oh wow, I’m working on this story almost every day! My mind never stops producing chapters, I’m always preparing chapters.

What kind of planning did you do before hand?

Forever Cursed was really going to be about Louis being a delivery boy for a bakery that was run by monsters. I did not like the idea so somehow I had a nightmare about the boys not being as nice as they seem. So I wrote down bits and pieces to at least make an idea, I asked Nikki to help me take out and twist things around which turned into Forever Cursed. There wasn’t really any planning I was just driving off the little plot I had.

What is your favorite thing about writing Forever Cursed?

There is so many things I enjoy about writing Forever Cursed, I like that I turned One Direction into this group of demons. Everyone else has them being in love or these romantic gentlemen. I thought it would be fun to make them seem less attractive inside and out, you don’t always see that in One Direction fan fictions. Also keeping the readers on their feet about what will happen next is fun too!

What is the most challenging thing about writing it?

Most challenging thing writing Forever Cursed was Molly. She was such a hard character to create with how long I’ve made her be a demon, the love/hate relationship she has with Louis, and the powerful emotional/physical bond she has with Harry. The chapter where Anna and Molly split bodies was the second hardest part to write in the story (it will be posted soon) because there’s so much that has to go on.

Have you ever experienced writer's block with Forever Cursed? If so, how did you overcome it?

The week before Halloween I wasn’t feeling great and was sick, so I didn’t feel like working on it and my mind wasn’t ready to produce anything new. I overcame writers block by writing other stories and keeping my mind away till something popped up.

Do you write with an outline, or just wing it?

I only winged the story at first but then I had to write an outline later on because there is just so much history involved with Louis, Harry, and Anna/Molly.

Do you have any pre/post writing rituals?

For prewriting I usually dream or have a nightmare that I’ll remember the next morning, it will play back inside my head until I write it down. Post writing is listening to music, watching horror films, and I even listened to nature tracks for when Louis uses his power to control lighting.

Thank you! I want to hug all of you because I honestly had no idea this story was going to get any attention at all. I’m so excited seeing the comments you all send, and I’m so excited to see the reactions once the story is over because I’m deeply thinking about a sequel. Thank you!
